Funny... relative or not, incorrect beliefs/actions remain incorrect even if relative.

joke aside, i have read up on the various differences however i need clarification on whether the barelwis are regarded as ahlus sunnah or not...

1. there is this:
Quote:
Although Barelwis are considered to be Ahl-Al-Sunnah Wal-Jama’ah and followers of the Hanafi Madhab, they have several beliefs which are considered incorrect.

Mufti Ebrahim Desai
Source
2. then there is mufti Taqi's reply here which doesnt actually have the answer i need

3. then there is this from Differences in the Ummah and the Straight Path
by Mawlana Muhammad Yusuf Ludhianvi
To me the phrase “Deobandi-Barelwi difference” is surprising and odd. You have already heard that the difference between the Sunnis and Shiahs stemmed from the acceptance (of the one group) and rejection (by the other) of the Sahaabah-e-Kiraam (radhiAllaahu anhum) and that the difference between the Hanafis and Wahaabis originated from the following or not of the Aimmah-e-Mujtahiddeen. However, according to my knowledge there is no sound basis for any difference between the Deobandis and Barelwis. The reason being that both these groups are passionate followers of the Hanafi Math-hab. In so far as Aqaa`id both these groups accept and follow the teachings of Imaam Abul Hasan Ash`ari and Imaam Abu Mansoor Maaturidi (rahmatullahi alaihima). Both thesegroups accept and take ba`it to all four Silsilahs of Tasawwuf, viz. Qaadiri, Chisti, Saharwardi and Naqshbandi. In short, both these groups are in all respects followers of the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaat.

and the there is this: Fatwas from two leading Deobandi institutes

Q. so do you or anyone else have a straight forward answer on whether the barelwis are regarded as ahlus sunnah wal jama'ah or not from any Ulama?

Personally, I have any grievances with this group, but it could just be down to laymen over doing what they feel is correct. Hence, many call them biddati or mushrik.

Listen to this lecture, really good insight www.muftisays.com/forums/77-taqleed--the-straight-path/91...

I've seen a YouTube video of a deceased Barelwi scholar, whose grave had to be dug up for some reason and MashaAllah, his body had not decomposed, it was in the same state he was buried in. Allahu alum.

The video is called "Miracle of Islam - Mufti Farooq Attari, fresh in the grave after 3.5 years"

Like I said, its to do with the laypeople in general who exaggerate their beliefs. If the same biddah and Shirk is being taught to them by their scholars, then that's something to look into. Some of the Barelwi beliefs have already been mentioned in the threads. Just like we have Deobandi laypeople who go out of their way in exaggeration of their peers which leads others to feel that they are doing biddah or even shirk.

(Gonna be tied up today so I wont be able to respond much)

Ok so lets discuss without mentioning Nana Saheb in specific. Problem with truth is that you get into a fit and start having a nervous breakdown when truth is discussed...

 1. Indian/Pakistanees have a fixation with Barelwees but when Habib Jibfri comes to UK he visits Darul-uloom Bury with no issues
 2. Indian/Pakitanees have a fixation with Barelwees but when Abdul Hakim Murad comes to UK he visits Darul-uloom Bury with no issues
 3. Indian/Pakitanees have a fixation with Barelwees but here they have no issues with publishing books (getting translations from Murabatoon, getting pdf's published) [numerous examples can be given).

So just a single question for you.

 • IS THE DISPUTE based on Aqeedah (as you are claiming) or are turf-war from India/Pakistan?

If you are claiming this to be an Aqeedah dispute that I can categorically proof to you many Scholars with the same Aqeedah operating in UK and Deobandees co-operating with them, would you like me to do that?

That's a statement for anyone actually who wants to say that their differences with Barelwees are based on Aqeedah and not back home polemics.

 1. Please state your name
 2. Please state that you differ with Barelwees based on Aqeedah
 3. Please state the Aqeedah which you differ about

And I will (Insha'Allah) show you Deobandi Scholars co-operating with people of the same Aqeedah.

Your job will then be to explain why that is?  If the differences are based on Aqeedah then surely it doesn't matter if the Guy (holding those beliefs) is Gujarati or Arab or Nigerian or White!

Brother Muadh, i actually dont have any issues here....i'm just trying to gather info and try to understand for myself and for others. I've gone through the differences in books and online Q/A's...Alhamdulillah i've understood most of it. My questions are nothing to do with any of the points you have mentioned so no need for nervous breakdowns....sigh! cant even ask a simple question nowadays!

anyway, no worries, bros, i think i've found a good source to get the info i need..jazaakumullah for your time
