Sister Ummi Talib specifically queried about recent events. And the recent event is the Danish Radio interview.

As for my personal view as far as I am concerned despite Mufti Menk having an anxiety attack in that interview . And making a horlicks of it. His lectures themselves are generally okay.

Mufti Menk in the Deobandees is a bogey man and already Fatawa'ed up, I know you don't care and don't want or expect you to but in the Deobandees the issue pre-dates Danish Interview and frankly not many paid attention to it. Whether you know or not, doesn't change reality...Concerned effort behind discrediting him in the eyes of laymen which as always backfired except in the hearts and minds of a few.

As far as Shaykh Omer Suleiman goes. I would say his lectures by themselves are fairly innocuous. Main problem is his political activism. And liberal Islam being promoted by people he associates with in his activism. And his refusal to distance himself from such people.

As for Dr Yasir Qadhi the damage he caused with his clumsy "holes in the standard narrative"; statement that has led to youth doubting Islam and alleged apostasy amongst many, and furore on Social media. With Christians and Murtads even taking out adverts on face book promoting his statement. The damage has been unfathomable. The one thing that has been an achilles heal for the non-muslims has been the preservation of the Quran it was an insurmountable obstacle for them. Now they are using his words to erroneously claim it is not preserved and muslim youth are falling for their deception.

As for Mufti Menk he is more so a bogeyman in eyes of the Ahle Hadith and Salafis who have been very vocal against him here in the west. Makes no difference personally not my cup of tea. But he is benefiting the youth thousands have brought closer to the deen. And looking at the comments on youtube many non-muslims devotedly listen to him as well.
