Source of above two Quotes

Algorithms and Fiqh a 36 page pdf of mind bogling reading.

I won't say that I agree with everything written in thsi PDF, but it is very interesting.

What is the next stage if Algorithms can be or are used to move forward? Well Artificial Inteligence! Can an AI Mufti really be  reallity (wait for the next post)

The Algorithm of Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) with Validation of an Entscheidungsproblem

arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1604/1604.00266.pdf

Quote:
The historic background of algorithmic processing with regard to etymology and methodology is translated into terms of mathematical logic and Computer Science. A formal logic structure is introduced by exemplary questions posed to Fiqh-chapters to define a logic query language. As a foundation, a generic algorithm for deciding Fiqhrulings is designed to enable and further leverage rule of law (vs. rule by law) with full transparency and complete algorithmic coverage of Islamic law eventually providing legal security, legal equality, and full legal accountability. This is implemented by disentangling and reinstating classic Fiqh-methodology (usul al-Fiqh) with the expressive power of subsets of First Order Logic (FOL) sustainably substituting ad hoc reasoning with falsifiable rational argumentation. The results are discussed in formal terms of completeness, decidability and complexity of formal Fiqh-systems. An Entscheidungsproblem for formal Fiqh-Systems is formulated and validated.

The most importantproposition underlying the Algorithm ofIslamic Jurisprudence consists of onesingle statement:

There exits a complete legislation.

An example of Wudhu taken from the PDF.

Based on the principle of compoundquestions, the general wudu-algorithmshown in below was also realized. Asthe main difference between the twoflavours (simple and compound) is thefact that sequences of actions have to betaken into account in the latter case, thealgorithm was realized in form of a finite state automaton. Finite stateautomata have exactly the requiredexpressive power to model sequences ofFiqh-related actions/events.As illustrated in, this algorithmtakes into account the following sixobligatory actions to be performed inorder to reach a valid state of Tahara(Shafi'i):

• Correct intention assertion

• Washing the face

• Washing the arms up to the elbows (image incorrectly labelled)

• Wiping parts of the head

• Washing the feet including the heels up to the ankles

• Doing all this in the above given sequence

As preserving the order of one’s actionsis required by the Shafi'i-school, the realized automaton is a deterministicone. The UI provides action buttonsfor actions from 1-5. All these actionsaffect the state of purification where thealgorithm changes the cases step-wiseas the user enters another action. If auser misses to enter an action or ifhe/she changes the order of someaction(s), the system is able to adviseand correct him/her (predifferentiation). The process of wuducan also be conjugated with itsinvalidation (hadath) algorithmgenerating rulings on whether the wuduremains valid or has been invalidated bysome action/event sequences. This hasbeen realized in the taymammum version of the compound algorithm andis not described here.

Can you believe that the Jew's had already asked their rabbi's if a robot or something with artificial intelligence could be considered as part of their "Minyan" (a minion meaning having ten people in order to pray, like we require a minimum of 2 people for a congregation).

I think they concluded that they couldn't, but things have changed since then. I think they used the golem as an example. An interesting read.

Let's hope the Muslim's don't go that far, even though we have headed that way.

We live in a time where we take and store our information online.

I tenner when I was in my teens, just a fee years ago :) I had a CD with a software on it called Al-Alim. It was a database of Hadith books.

I used it a lot until one day I asked my cousin a question and then narrated a Hadith to conclude my findings.

Man! From that day onwards, I let go of the software and only used it for reference instead. It became very apparent why people should not leave scholars of understanding and why we shouldn't just educate ourselves by reading books on Hadith. It's very dangerous!

This is where Ghair-Muqallid and Salafiyyat will take a person:

  1. DISCONNECT from Ulama
  2. SEARCH of evidence
  3. ANSWER found

This is the pure Dajjal approach which I have been warning about.
