A better question to ask instead of making judgement calls on one Nasheed is to evaluate the Singer:

1. What is his Aqeedah?
2. What is his stance on Music?
3. Whom does he co-operate with?

If he uses Music and co-operates with those who uses Music then he is involved in Fisq (by consensus) and we should NOT listen to such a person unless and until he does Taubah. We live in times of Dajjal so deception is common place i.e. a person will sing (with Music) do Nasheed with Sisters and in Ramadhan come on Islam Channel and make dua and everybody will present his (one action) as permissable.

I don't know about this brother at all so can't comment but you you need to look at the case in its entirety.

Too many people deceiving the Ummah in our times with using Music, women etc and then not using it on certain occasions!
