Bismillah.

How To Motivate Your Children -And Develop A Stronger Connection.

I heard a Shaykh mention that, the main Tarbiyyah of Children is done when they are very young. He compared the Tarbiyah at this age to a gardener who ties a stick or pole to a sapling, to help it grow straight as it grows into a Tree.

But if you fail to attach the support pole to it when the plant is still a sapling and in its embryonic stages. Then instead of growing in a straight line it will become crooked.
You can try attaching the support pole at the later stage but it will be far more difficult for it to straighten out.

But it is still not impossible though.

The point is when Children are very young their Mother and Father are their heroes and are every thing to them. They Will have greater influence. But as the children grow older, the influence of the environment and their friends becomes greater.

I know of someone who came up with a solution all his kids are in their Teens and early Twenties.

He created a family WhatsApp group. Compromising of himself, his wife and the kids.
The purpose of the group was to share videos, articles that were of spiritual benefit, and also just general day to day routine with each other.

He found it strengthened the family bonds , as well as inspired the kids to become more practicing in their their Deen.

And ALLAH knows best.
