Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah

Hope everyone is doing well. Alhamdulillah I have been blessed with a baby boy. I wanted to know which circumcision method is the closest to sunnah and what do you all prefer? Does anyone here has any knowledge about machine circumcision?

Conclusions

Overall, our review found that circumcision devices may have slightly more complications than standard surgery, such as requiring antibiotics or stitches. We also found that procedures done with circumcision devices probably take less time to complete. Patients may feel less pain in the first 24 hours after a circumcision procedure when a device is used compared to the standard surgery. Patients may slightly prefer the use of a device compared to standard surgery. When deciding whether to use a device, these results should be kept in mind alongside consideration of the local context such as costs and access to trained healthcare workers in different healthcare settings. Further trials can help us to understand the benefits and harms with more certainty, particularly about complications and postoperative pain.

Both of my boys were given the traditional method of circumcision. I have yet to come across anyone who has even mentioned another form. And Allah knows best

What's the traditional method? My mother in law took him to the hospital of her choice and they did machine circumcision. I'm just worried.

InshaAllah, there should be nothing to worry about.

The traditional (current/recent method) was to apply some anaesthetics and then use scissors to perform the procedure. I'm not sure about using the local anaesthetics in the good old days though :(

Changes can be beneficial in many cases, but a Sunnah will always be the Sunnah. i.e. Miswaak to toothbrush to electronic toothbrush and so on. The rewards of the Miswaak cannot be matched with the use of an electric toothbrush. Whilst on the other hand, it is Sunnah to clip/trim the moustache - How this can be done can vary from person to person. One can use scissors only, comb and scissors, blade, machine...but ultimately, the Sunnah is still achieved inshaAllah.
