As-Salaam alaikum,
The root of the word QUR'AN expresses the idea of "gathering together" and "totalization".
Sheikh Ibn Arabi, may Allah be pleased with him, says the Qur'an is perpetually new for any of those who read it (Futuhat Makkiyyah : vol. 3 pg. 108)-- he says : "It (the Qur'an) came down upon the heart of Muhammad, and it does not cease to come down upon the hearts of the faithful of his community up to the Day of Resurrection. Its descent upon hearts is always new, for it is perpetual Revelation.." see also 'Kitab al-Is far (Hyderabad, 1948).

The Qur'an is an ocean without shore. The limits that it sets for faith (Imaan) and for works are never annulled, the Law remains idefesible in this world and through it man achieves supreme perfection.

For Sayyadi Ibn Arabi, the Qur'an is a treasure whose abundance is truly infinite, and the Isharat, the allusions in it to Divine Secrets which can be perceived by those who listen to it in a state of perfect ummiyya, are countless.
