This lecture describes the events the lead up to his manifestation, and what takes places once he has been established. It describes him, his family, his companions his enemies from within and without and something of his mission. A bewildering talk no doubt.

A lot of things have been claimed by him in the above. Some say that he is heavily relying (relating) the views of Shaykh al-Akbar, Ibn 'Arabi.

Things such as, the Prophet (peace be upon him; by way of Abu Hurayrah) explicitly mentioned individuals such as Anwar Sadat, Saddam Hussein, and the hadith mentioning America and New York both by explicit words (that a good portion of it will be destroyed). I don't know if he meant that a comet will hit it (as mentioned by the Hadith he claims) or that it is an ilham of some man of God (tasawwuf).

If someone else such as from the Deobandis (Hanafis) or Salafis (Atharis/Hanbalis) related the same above and claimed that these ahadith are (as his students/fans claim) are in manuscripts of Turkey, surely the lecturer would be deemed as a crazy liar.

He also claims that the Mahdi will be surrounded by the elite leaders (abdal) of the sufi turuq that are available to us today.

My two questions are:
--> How come no scholar till date has related this?
--> What is the deal with this? In order to believe him surely he has to furnish some proofs (asanid, ahadith from those manuscripts) in order for the masses to believe?

I do not mean any disrespect to the shaykh, but this is our din and we must be careful from whom we take it from.

Any comments?

Yes, it is a policy of those linked to the habaib of yemen. They seem to recollect Mehdi a lot. This Mehdi fascination is not healthy. One such fanatic who I knew was thoroughly convinced that hazrat Mehdi is due to be born soon. These kind of statements come to those who rely on their kashf, dreams and sufi taweel.

As far as I am aware the habaib also believe that abu talib died on imaan as well as some sort of anti-sayidinah muawiyah stance. This was mentioned to me by their students.

Bhai tafsir it sounds interesting. The issue is that the respected shaykh has studied primarily in Darul Mustafa in yemen. If you look at the syllabus at the place the focus is on shafi fiqh as well as tasawuff for which the syllabus is excellent. The issue is that there is little attention to hadeeth and thus this would be reflected in the graduates. The same is true for many places. There is hardly any focus on hadeeth these days and people are hardly versed in the issues of manuscripts, ascertaining authenticity etc.

Asalamualikum brothers,

Rather than talk about the shaykh why not ask him in person for his proofs its just a shame people do not do this. If the scholar is reliable he will not have an issue with you asking him in private or public.

The Hadith referenced in the lecture by Shaykh Ibrahim on Sadat, Anwar, America etc.....is referenced in Saudi Dr Areefi's book the End Of the World....and written as being baseless....

It's mentionned in " Kashf Al-Maknoon fil-Radd Ala Kitaab Harmajdoon, 58"

But who is the author of this book?
