The Taliban are in a position to negotiate her release. They need to do this immediately. The ulama of Pakistan and elsewhere who have connections with the Taliban need to persuade them.

Dr Aafia Siddiqui was days away from being released in a prisoner swap, with the Taliban. In exchange for American military captive Bowe Bergdahl. The Pakistani Intelligence afraid that their collusion in her capture and confinement would be exposed, if she were to be released, sabotaged the prisoner swap deal.
