8 Things To Consider when dealing with people having doubts.
By Shaykh Shams Adduha.

Video only 29 minutes.

Bismillah.

Shaykh Shams AdDuha is the co-founder and former Director of Ebrahim College London. He now works full time working with youth struggling with their Imaan and having doubts. And deals with such situations on a weekly basis Here are his tips.

No. 1: Do not respond with outrage

No. 2: Do not mock the person or ridicule them ( The behaviour and reaction of muslims is the prime reason for driving people further away)

No. 3: Do not make assumptions and be judgemental ( You might not fully know their situation so don’t make assumptions about them.)

No. 4: Intend to help, not give a Fatwa

No. 5: Trust that Islam has the answers

No.6: If you do not understand the context of the doubt, don't give absolute answers.( Refer them to people who are qualified)

No.7: Answers are often not enough ( They often need someone to listen, to them)

No.8: Build A Relationship of Trust

And ALLAH knows best.

I quote from Hakeemul Ummat:
یہ قاعدہ ہے کہ جس کی عظمت دل میں ہوتی ہے اس کے احکام میں علتیں نہیں تلاش کی جاتیں بے چوں چرا تسلیم کر لیا جاتا ہے جس کی عظمت دل میں نہیں رہتی اس کی ہر بات میں لم اور کیف کیا جاتا ہے۔

summary:
It is a rule that whoever accepts greatness of an authority he shall not find the motive behind the commandments, they are accepted without any argument.
Whoever disrespects the authority he shall find fault with each and every word.

Many times government implements certain rules, these rules are indigestible for many for us, we try to argue against the rule through logic. But we accept it, thinking that there must be better logic or circumstances behind this implementation of this rule. And authority is in best position to take decisions.

Sometimes a person uses his personal logic and breaks the commandments of the authority , when he finds himself in embarrassing situation, he tries to prove his point through logic.

For example:
To send a letter by post, the department/authority demands a postal stamp of a few cents to be pasted on the letter.

I demonstrate my smartness, I paste one dollar note/bill on the letter. I am offering higher amount. But the either the receiver has to pay for stamps or it shall be returned to me.
