Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon.

May Allah Ta'aala forgive him his sins, accept his ibaadah, good works, and good deeds, and grant him comfort and peace in the barzakh and Jannah in the hereafter. Ameen.

~~~
I don't think any of us want that. We may not want to suffer, feel pain, be in a position where others have to do stuff for us, be in a position where we can't communicate, or eat, or clean up after ourselves, but that shouldn't stop us from wanting care and mercy to be there for us if we should be in such a position... or from wanting that care and mercy to be available through us for others insha'Allah. It is humbling for everyone involved, an eye opener, and a mercy - alhamdulillah.
Physically,yes ! No one wants to be in that situation specially at the end of his life....but look at another aspect,Alhamdolillah, Allah swt did grant him 'Husne Khatima' (InshaAllah)with Kalima Tayyaba on his lips,in fact,Kalima to be his last word(s).This is no small achievement....and only ALLAH SWT do grant it to those HE (SWT) wills.May Allah swt grant us all 'Husne khatima'...EVERY THING depends on it.
A beautiful dua taught to us by our beloved Prophet (SAW):
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ أُرَدَّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ".
60. Allaahumma 'innee 'a'oothu bika minal-bukhli, wa 'a'oothu bika minal-jubni, wa 'a'oothu bika min 'an 'uradda 'ilaa 'arthalil-'umuri, wa 'a'oothu bika min fitnatid-dunyaa wa 'athaabil-qabri.
O Allah , I seek Your protection from miserliness, I seek Your protection from cowardice, and I seek Your protection from being returned to feeble old age . I seek Your protection from the trials of this world and from the torment of the grave.
