UK Pilgrims Killed in Crash
At least two British tourists have been killed and a number of other UK travellers hurt in a coach crash in Saudi Arabia.
The two are believed to be Muslim pilgrims on their way to Mecca for the annual hajj festival.
The bus, heading from Medina to Mecca, hit a road barrier after the driver fell asleep at the wheel, Saudi police said.
The incident happened at Rabegh, about 55 miles north of Jeddah.
Consular staff have been at the scene and are also providing assistance to Britons caught up in the accident.
Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from around the world are expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks for the haj pilgrimage which begins in late December.
Around 125,000 Britons visit Saudi Arabia each year for the hajj and umra pilgrimages in the holy city of Mecca.
Another 20,000 British expatriates live in the kingdom.
