Sheikh Sudais, Imams And Scholars Of The Two Holy Mosques Condemn Statements By Indian Official

MAKKAH: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques issued a statement on Monday condemning the insulting statements made by the spokesperson of the Indian Bhartiya Janta Party against the Prophet Muhammad (May Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him).

The Statement said: “The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque denounced in the name of the President and in the name of preachers, imams, scholars and employees of the Presidency the offensive statements and drawings of the Holy Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him.“

The statement further said: “It is stressed that such a heinous act does not represent respect for religions, and that those who did such an act did not read in the biography of the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, for it is better than trampling on the earth, and the light of humanity, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, and the mercy that is bestowed upon the worlds.

The statement affirmed the Kingdom’s position calling for respecting beliefs and religions, spreading peace among all, and not violating the symbols of the Islamic religion.

Brother, Saudi Ulama have also spoken up.

I would still like to believe that the Saudis hold the Honor of our Prophet (SAW) as inviolable.

Writer PB Mehta explains how the current humiliation for the BJP will play out.
Quote:
The suspension of BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for offensive targeting of Prophet Mohammad is a victory for civility. That the government was forced to suspend its spokesperson and disown her in the wake of reprimands by Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iran is a reminder that targeting minorities with impunity, and hate speech with official sanction, will have repercussions for India’s global reputation. It was not human rights lectures from great powers like the United States, but the power of illiberal states like Qatar, that humiliated India. The sheer cretinism of the BJP was called out and how.
Quote:
To understand why this tactical reprieve should not make us complacent, we have to understand the BJP’s long-term strategy. It is what might be called a “heads we win, tails you lose strategy.” The strategy is this. Say things with impunity about minorities, show your toughness by baiting Islam. Convert tractable political disputes into a whole-scale ideological attack on Islam or Muslims. If you get away with it, you claim credit for showing the strength of Hindus, for a kind of tough bravado. If, on the other hand, there is a reaction of any kind, a push-back, you turn around and claim victim status. If impunity succeeds, you gain power. If impunity fails, you convert that into fodder for a feigned victimhood on which Hindutva thrives. And that is exactly how the BJP will play this humiliation in the broader poisoning of civil society.
Quote:
The easiest way to grow Islamophobia globally is by using speech about Prophet Mohammad either to claim that defenders of free speech are hypocritical, or provoke some kind of violent reaction, as happened in Kanpur. That was the script the BJP intended.
Quote:
Almost all turning points in generating anti-Muslim sentiment, from Rangila Rasool to Satanic Verses, from Charlie Hebdo to the Danish cartoons, have played out to the same script. And the reaction, each time, paradoxically both weakens liberalism and strengthens Islamophobia simultaneously. There is nothing about the current national humiliation that will change this script.

I think this is just an incitement from someone else claiming to be Muslims. I could be wrong. When making such statements, one would make it error free and Salutations for each and every mention of the Prophet (saw) and Allah knows best.

Brother, you might just be right about that. The mention of "Hindutva" and "Saffron terrorists" does raise a few eyebrows. AQ communications usually just suffice with the use of the term "infidels," unless the media guy for AQ in the subcontinent is South Asian, and/or politically savvy.

It is very clear now, Indian Muslims have realised that they have to defend themselves.
It is deceptive to expect anything from a foreign country, or from their neighbor.
The reaction to the insults to Prophet is the fear of the rulers that their subjects might react and hit the road and things will get out of control, so let us deal with it first.
These rulers need wealth, they want trade, even if the one they are trading with is mass killer of 100 million Muslims, they declare; it is their internal affair, our survival is priority, so business first.

Brother, this is a very incisive and accurate assessment of the recent events. What is heartening is the knowledge that the general public in all these Muslim countries still holds paramount in their heart the love and honor of our Prophet, on him be peace. This ghayrah (sense of honor and respect) completely baffles the non Muslims. May Allah Taala give barakah (blessings) to the Ummah in this matter of ghayrah.
