Probably to stop blood flow to the head so you can no longer think and eventually when the mind is dead, so is everything else in the person's world including the virus. Do not try it at home, or at Asda, or anywhere else.

It’s a done thing for migraine sufferers. I can only imagine this person was suffering a severe headache or migraine and had to go out. Otherwise it would be just following some superstition or something who knows why some ppl do a lot of things.

Italian coronavirus cases seen "10 times higher" than official tally

ROME (Reuters) - The number of coronavirus cases in Italy is probably 10 times higher than the official tally, the head of the agency collating the data said on Tuesday as the government readied new measures to force people to stay at home.

Erdogan says Turkey will overcome coronavirus in 2-3 weeks through measures

ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey will overcome the coronavirus outbreak in two to three weeks through good measures, with as little damage as possible, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday, adding that he expected patience, understanding and support from Turks in the process.

“We have preparations for every scenario,” Erdogan told a televised address to the nation.
“By breaking the speed of the virus’ spread in two to three weeks, we will get through this period as soon as possible with as little damage as possible.”
