'Prayer for the Nation': Hundreds of British mosques plan prayer to show solidarity against Islamic extremism

It calls on Allah to protect the country and remain 'loving and compassionate'

Hundreds of mosques across Britain are set to hold a “Prayer for the Nation” in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris to underline their solidarity against Islamic extremism in this country.

The Mosques and Imams National Advisory Board, which represents more than 600 Muslim institutions, has written to all its members asking them to adopt the prayer as part of their Friday worship. It calls on Allah to protect the country and remain “loving and compassionate”.

“Make our hearts and minds aware of our heritage, fulfilling duties and responsibilities as a citizen of our country,” it reads.

“Remove prejudice from our hearts and enable us to love our brothers and sisters of all faiths and none.”

though we are innocent?

accept collective responsibility thus collective punishment?

there is no such thing as Islamic extremism
the two words cannot be even in the same sentence in the terrorism context.
You cannot be a murderer and Islamic.you cannot carry out murderdumb operations and claim Islamic legitimacy.

most of their gurus are now in jail thankfully or on trial and many have run to Syria to join their khawarij insane state loony brothers

And yes condolences to the victims of terrorism in all forms everywhere but as a fellow human being.

This shouldve taken place long time ago the ummah has been suffering for a long time, why wait til now.

As Muslims and human beings we shouldve already been in state of prayer for the oppressed and suffering regardless of who they maybe, it shouldn't be appointed to a specific time and location.

Droughts, natural disasters, child abductions, murders, wars, killings, Palestine, chechnya, Kashmir...etc etc etc...it isn't a new phenomena....we had to be reminded to pray for all attrocities NOW?

Oh Allah, our lord, unite our nation around the principles of justice, peace, love and faith.

Put peace and love in our hearts for the diversity that makes our country so beautiful

Oh Lord, most Strong, Give us the strength to protect and care for our neighbours.

Oh Lord, we pray for our nation, the United Kingdom. to remain loving, compassionate, remove prejudice from our hearts, and enable us to love our brothers and sisters of all faiths and none

Make our hearts and minds aware of our heritage, fulfilling duties and responsibilities as a citizen of our country!

Allah, Most Merciful, allow us to show kindness to those most vulnerable in society.

Protect us from evil, inspire and guide us in defending those open to abuse.

Lord, Most Generous allow us to give in charitable activity, and to help those most in need.

Lord give our Government vision and wisdom, as they take decisions affecting peace in our world.

Allah, our Sustainer, allow us to care for our environment and sustain this world for future generations.

Lord, Most merciful, Most Generous, please give us the patience to continue to learn from one another and work towards a more peaceful and kind world.

Make true in our nation the ideas of freedom and justice and brotherhood for all those who live for them.

Make our hearts generous so that we may treat others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Help us to share that which we have with others, for your sake. Strengthen us, love us and be kind to us all.

these duas ,ethics ideas and morals are taught to us in our mosques since from when we are 5 years old.and before that by our parents
the proactivity then continues in the darul ulooms and tabligh jamaat
then by tasawwuf the character morals ethics ibadaat are further refined
this is nothing new

just one statement by late amir of tabligh and shaykh of tasawwuf hazrat ji saheb r.a.
