"A person will not feel greater fury or anger for any part of his body on the Day of Judgement more than what he will feel for his tongue, unless he only used it for saying or enjoining good."

"The servant (of Allah) speaks words, the consequences of which he does not realize, and for which he is sent down into the depths of the Fire further than the distance between the east and the west."

Some Ahadeeth are not self explanitary. If those who know can explain a few terms in the Ahadeeth, it would be very beneficial for the readers. Plus, I think the Ahadeeth should have been posted slowly bit by bit for those who are a little slow (like me.) Because Alhamdulillah I am checking these up and learning them. It's a nice collection. I'm sure you feel happy knowing that. I suggest the same to other users too, times's too short. Allah increase all in knowledge and make them active in what they know. Ameen

Salam,

You're a recognized user now. You can post meanings/commentaries of Ahadeeth in this section (Virtues). Try take care of the following:

- Not too lengthy.
- State sources as detailed as possible.
- State all the lessons learnt from the Hadeeth as much as possible.
- Make each Hadeeth a seperate topic.
- Choose a good subject line for the contents page.

Looking forward to reading it.
Wassalam

I loove this hadeeth.

من احب لقاء الله احب الله لقاءه

If someone is eager and anxious to meet Allah, Allah also is eager and anxious to meet that person.

Bukhari
------------------------------------------
People who are really eager to meet their lord, they remain waiting for death. One way or the other, we have to die one day. Why not be one of those who are eager and anxious to meet Allah.
We should spare a few moments to contemplate on death. This verse from the holy Quran fits with the above hadeeth:
Those who wish to meet their lord, let them/they should do good deeds. ا

A man asked the Prophet peace be upon him which acts are superior in Islam, and the Prophet peace be upon him replied by saying:

It is to feed the food (to the hungry people), and greet with Salaam those whom you know and those who you do not.
Bukhari

------------------------------
To begin with salam is sunnah.

From the above hadeeth we learn that we should say salam to all muslims, wether we know them or not. Males should say salam to other muslim males wether they know them or not and women should say salam to other muslim women, wether they know them or not.

Allah says In the Holy Quran:
When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) respond to it equally. Indeed, Allaah is ever a careful Accountant over all things. (Surah An-Nisa 4:86).

-----------------------------------------------
It is wajib (obligatory) to respond to a Salaam and to respond with that which is better or atleast equal. We should reply by saying وعليكم السلا م , or وعليكم السلام و رحمة الله و بركاته .. There is more reward in saying this.

Prophet peace be upon him said:
الكيس من دان نفسه و عمل لما بعد الموت
"Wise is he who condemns his self and works for the life of the hereafter".
---------------------------------------------
This Hadeeth indicates as to who really is the wise. In this world THAT man is regarded wise who earns money and runs successful buisness enterprises. As against this, the prophet peace be upon him has said that the real WISE is he who masters his self and does not hanker after his wishes and makes his self obedient to the commands of Allah and prepares for the hereafter.
