Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever says, 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi,' one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.
I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The good deeds of any person will not make him enter Paradise." (i.e., None can enter Paradise through his good deeds.) They (the Prophet's companions) said, 'Not even you, O Allah's Apostle?' He said, "Not even myself, unless Allah bestows His favor and mercy on me." So be moderate in your religious deeds and do the deeds that are within your ability: and none of you should wish for death, for if he is a good doer, he may increase his good deeds, and if he is an evil doer, he may repent to Allah."
Allah's Apostle said, "The angels keep on asking Allah's forgiveness for anyone of you, as long as he is at his Mu,salla (praying place) and he does not pass wind (Hadath). They say, 'O Allah! forgive him, O Allah! be Merciful to him."
Allah's Apostle said, "The congregational prayer of anyone amongst you is more than twenty (five or twenty seven) times in reward than his prayer in the market or in his house, for if he performs ablution completely and then goes to the mosque with the sole intention of performing the prayer, and nothing urges him to proceed to the mosque except the prayer, then, on every step which he takes towards the mosque, he will be raised one degree or one of his sins will be forgiven. The angels will keep on asking Allah's forgiveness and blessings for everyone of you so long as he keeps sitting at his praying place. The angels will say, 'O Allah, bless him! O Allah, be merciful to him!' as long as he does not do Hadath or a thing which gives trouble to the other."
The Prophet further said, "One is regarded in prayer so long as one is waiting for the prayer."
Narrated Abu Musa ra: Allah's Apostle sallallahu alaihi wasallam said, "The example of a good companion (who sits with you) in comparison with a bad one, is I like that of the musk seller and the blacksmith's bellows (or furnace); from the first you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell while the bellows would either burn your clothes or your house, or you get a bad nasty smell thereof."(Bukhari, Book #34, Hadith #314)
This hadis guides us to have the companionship of good people. As the companionship of people always affects us, how mentally strong we are though, we can't be spared unaffected.
Elders say that man is recognised by his companionship, as everybody chooses the companionship of those ppl who've the same mentality as he's. Good companionship affects us quite slowly in contrast with the bad companionship that affects very quickly.
I, generally, stay away from materialistic and wealth- loving people who, by hook or crook, are always eager to pile up the layers of money. Sometimes, I happened to stay with them, they always talk about money, money and money. They dont mind to have illegal or unlawful ways to earn the wealth. They dont care of injunctions of deen. Many of them lend the money to needy people in return of interest (Riba). I've noticed that other Muslims who join their circle, after a few days begin to think of earning money in the same way.
If I say to them that riba is Haram in Islam, they dont like it to listen. Such people give almost the same reply-
'' Money is everything''
or
'' Everybody is earning the money by Haram means''
or
'' If you've money everybody respects you, if you're without money, you've no place in this modern world''
I often think, what happened to us.
We are losing the sense of honour as a momin. We as- father, Mother or elders of the family, most of the time, are involved in our personal lives and dont have the time to keep an eye on the company and friends circle of our sons, daughters or younger brothers n sisters. When we come to know about their ill activities, we are shocked and then we try cover up the damage but sometimes it's too late to take them back from the world of corruption.
One of my relatives came to me a few days ago, he told me that his only son is involved in porn-watching n now he doesn't concentrate on his study. I was highly worried to hear it because that boy is very gentle and a very brilliant student. Also He's a good athlete. Last year he was selected for state level competition. But now he's lost all interest in study and sports.
This is just an example of- Destruction is much easier than construction.
JazakAllah khayran brother - excellent reminder! Yes, good and beneficial companionship is so important - it is tied intimately to our time which is so very valuable.
Alhamdulillah, we don't lose hope no matter what. It is never too late until we take that last breath insha'Allah.
I also know youth who are lost and so far from the deen and we could easily slip into such things too so not only is there always the potential for them to make a turn-around for the better, but for us to slip and make a turn-around for the worse. Alhamdulillah, perhaps some of us have even made that turn-around from our youth. Insha'Allah, good companions will help remind us of the need to be vigilant and humble and the need to make abundant shukr insha'Allah.
May Allah Ta'aala safeguard our imaan, grant us taqwa, turn our hearts to Him, flood our hearts with His love, and keep our hearts turned to Him. Ameen.
Oh Allah! Grant us the companionship of the Nabiyyeen Siddiqeen, Shuhadaa and Saliheen. Ameen.
It was narrated that 'Aishah said:
"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, before you call and you are not answered.'"
It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar رضي الله عنه said:
"The Messenger of Allah turned to us and said: 'O Muhajirun, there are five things with which you will be tested, and I seek refuge with Allah lest you live to see them: Immorality never appears among a people to such an extent that they commit it openly, but plagues and diseases that were never known among the predecessors will spread among them. They do not cheat in weights and measures but they will be stricken with famine, severe calamity and the oppression of their rulers. They do not withhold the Zakah of their wealth, but rain will be withheld from the sky, and were it not for the animals, no rain would fall on them. They do not break their covenant with Allah and His Messenger, but Allah will enable their enemies to overpower them and take some of what is in their hands. Unless their leaders rule according to the Book of Allah and seek all good from that which Allah has revealed, Allah will cause them to fight one another.'"
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah said:
"There will come to the people years of treachery, when the liar will be regarded as honest, and the honest man will be regarded as a liar; the traitor will be regarded as faithful, and the faithful man will be regarded as a traitor; and the Ruwaibidah will decide matters.' It was said: 'Who are the Ruwaibidah?' He said: 'Vile and base men who control the affairs of the people.'"
"I came to the Messenger of Allah during the campaign of Tabuk, when he was in a tent made of leather, so I sat in front of the tent. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Enter, O 'Awf.' I said, 'All of me, O Messenger of Allah?' He said : 'All of you.' Then he said: 'O 'Awf, remember six things (that will occur) before the Hour comes, one of which is my death.' I was very shocked and saddened at that. He said: 'Count that as the first. Then (will come) the conquest of Baitul-Maqdis (Jerusalem); then a disease which will appear among you and cause you and your offspring to die as martyrs and will purify your deeds; then there will be (much) wealth among you, so that if a man were to be given one hundred Dinar he would still be dissatisfied; and there will be tribulation among you that will not leave any Muslim house untouched;* then there will be a treaty between you and the Romans, then they will betray you and march against you with eighty banners, under each of which will be twelve thousand (troops).'"
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
