As-Salaam alaikum,
In Hadith, we have it where the Noble Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:--
"He who remembers his Lord and he who does not remember his Lord
are like the living and the dead." [Sahih Bukhari].
This is very closely related with ayat 205 of Surat A'araf of the Holy Qur'an, where Allahu Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says:--
"And remember your Lord by your tongue and within yourself, humbly
and in awe, without loudness in words, in the mornings and evenings;
and be not among the neglectful." (7:205)
The body is a system that needs nourishment in every respect, the comparison between the living and the dead in above Hadith is made because the soul receives tremendous nourishment during Zikr, while the heedless person goes deeper into loss without replenishing himself. That is why we pray 5 times daily; this is the minimum the body requires to maintain our standard of morality. So, engage in Zikr regularly to nourish the body and soul.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
