As-Salaam alaikum,
The Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, once said:--
"You shall not enter Paradise and you will not believe until you love one another.
Shall I direct you to a thing which, if you do it, it will foster love amongst you?
Give currency to 'Assalam alaikum". [Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith 96].
Spreading of peace among one another is much more than the outward greeting of 'Asssalam alaikum.... peace be upon you. This is just the beginning. When we are truly at peace within ourselves, then we will be spreading that peace to others. This is spreading peace outwardly from within us- for no one will love you except the one that you have given peace to in every one of your states... We must believe and feel that both our existence and the existence of whom we greet with 'Assalam alaikum', are by Divine Cause. We exist at His Pleasure, Tabaraka Wa Ta'ala.
