Free the Mind Thursday, May 6, 2010

posted on www.shaykh.org

by Mawlana Zubair Hafezullah

"The renowned Shaykh Ashraf Ali Thanwi rahmatullahi alayh has stated that to keep another person's mind empty i.e. free from continuous worries and concern is indeed a very big khidmat (service) to him. On the contrary, to keep another person's mind continuously engaged with worries and concerns is against Aadaabul Mu'aasharat."

3 Types of Dua Wednesday, January 28, 2009

Posted on www.shaykh.org

by M. Yaaseen Kaasim

"My respected Shaykh Haji Farooq rahmatullahi alayh used to say:

Du'as can take three forms:

1) You can make du'a yourself.

2) You can request someone to make du'a for you.

3) You can attract spontaneous du'as from someone's heart (by pleasing them such that they make du'a without any prompting, from the depths of their heart).

Try to acquire the third kind."

Culture not Islam Thursday, November 22, 2007

Posted on www.shaykh.org

by Abu Abdullah Ibne Ismail

"What we see generally portrayed about how women are mistreated in Islam is not a reflection of Islam but a reflection of cultural practice and custom. Oppressing, hitting, shouting and demanding are all non-Islamic traits.

Islam teaches that women are to be treated with nothing other than honour, respect, love and affection."
