Looking down at the sand;
I take some in my hand ;
The grains slip through my fingers;
I loose my balance - I can't stand.
Soon I will be left in the dark grave;
For this world why does my heart then crave;
Where are my desires leading me to?
I am too humble - to be brave.
"Who is your Lord?" I will be asked;
For all I did I will be tasked;
When I have followed my desires all my life;
Of my reality I will be unmasked.
Oh Allah please enlighten my heart;
In my grave don't rip me apart;
I fear your wrath Please forgive me;
My death will be only a new start.
What will ease my Punishment on that day?
At least not the leisures in which I sway;
I have no deed of goodness in my account;
It will be too late to curse Satan for leading me astray.
I, myself have prepared my doom;
But oh Allah!! see before death I am in gloom;
So Oh Merciful One! Please forgive me;
In your remembrance; my remaining life may I consume.
