Turbulence

It
was atop the mountainous hillside

As
I gazed out at the chilly morning sea,

It
had for long yet been my meditation

The
serenity found within that healed.

I
once used to struggle up this uneven hillside

Stumbling,
falling then crumbling into tears,

But
You merely picked me up and guided me on

Quietening
and soothing my fears.

I
was now on top of the world (or it seemed to me)

My
veins were coursing with pleasure and pride,

Suddenly,
the water below roared and lunged

My
heart constricted, like poison ivy entwined.

An
eagle overhead cried out loudly

Penetrating
my vulnerable heart,

Dominance
and Violence terrified me

Yet
little did I realise; this was only the start.

Throughout
life we encounter meandering roads,

Dead
ends and rocky paths.

Hostile
company, stubborn chores,

Useless
notions and difficult tasks.

However
all in all, You inspired me

You
nurtured my mind and led me to think;

Although
our way is not soft grass and silken smooth,

Situations
can change in a blink.

It
is important to face trails and tribulations

With
the inner motivation we all tend to hide

As
it is the only way we will reach our goal

The
one we ultimately find...
