Medinah; The City of Lovers

We visited medinah, the blessed city of our beloved first, before going to Hajj. This is on the last day before setting off to Makkah, Mina and Hajj. The time in medinah was something you cannot explain in words, only relate in ones heart. The peace and joy you feel, nothing like that anywhere or in any place. These are my thoughts, my poem, and how my heart 'exploaded' after my stay in medinah.

In these days of darkness in life, your light is what i need, oh habib.

Difficulty, confusion, with holes of despair, your hand to hold, i seek.

Many faces i see, many smiles i observe, all nations and all flavors of the mankind, your glow, your fragrance, your smile is all that i want, oh habib.

Joy is singing your name, sakeenah beyond count, blessings to fill both my worlds.

From far i sent my salam, wishing to be close, your invitation came as a rare peak into Divine love, oh habib.

Standing close to you, blessings of Divine light, receiving peace of mind that one can never find.

I came as your servant, oh habib, without count, salutations moistened my tongue, wishing for your blessed ears to hear and accept.

So many lovers you have oh habib, no gifts, no jewels, no presents i have for you, nothing will be able to compensate for you and your cry for us.

All i came with, traveling miles, lacking with deeds and in following your way, all i have is that my love for you is only my love.

How beautiful is your dome, green in its glory, the life of the earth ripening throughout the world in the essence of trees.

The sight blinding my heart, aching my love, for my life's worth, all i need is your smile, your name and you replying to me, oh habib.

Thinking how blessed this land is, the magnitude of your mosque and rare sight of your grave, what has this poor servant done to have this opportunity?
