'BORROWED TIME'
I think you're the one I've heard and read many books about,
Are you? Could you? Be the Angel of Death?
O' yes come in, have a seat, what would you like some coffee or tea?
You must be passing, to visit a friend, neighbour or relative?
I don't presume you've come for me,
It's not my time and anyway I'm only 23,
I think you've made a mistake; I'm much too young,
I'm not ready to die yet, please kindly leave!
I've performed a few good deeds, so I'll be o.k.
I'm struggling to recall any, but I'm sure I'll remember with time,
Whilst we're on the subject, please spare me a day?
I have to reform and repent for my neglectful ways,
Just as long as you give me more time and not take my soul today,
Maybe a day, a week or even another few years?
I need to fulfil my religious duties and prioritise my life,
I've got loads of money you can have it all,
In exchange for more time and a longer life!
Why aren't you leaving, I think you've not understood,
My friends and family need me, they'll never survive,
Go back empty handed, or take another replacement soul!
I'm not asking for much, just more time to rectify my life,
How will I face my Creator, with the deeds of my appalling life!
I've heard you're always punctual to seize the predestined souls,
With the command of the Almighty not wasting any moment in time,
You must know I'm an exception so you can kindly leave,
I'm not ready to leave my life, so I'm not going to surrender my soul,
Why are you drawing closer, I've already made my decision to stay,
I can't seem to breathe any longer it's not my time, please let me stay.
DOE'S DEATH WAIT FOR ANY MAN, WOMAN OR CHILD?
