As-Salaam alaikum,
In his book titled, IHYA ULUMIDDIN (Revival of the Religious Sciences), Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazzali (d. 1111) reported that Sayyadi Sahl Ibn Abdullah al-Tustari (d. 896) said:--
"The truth of faith (Imaan) does not reach a man who does not possess 4 qualities:
Performance of compulsory duties along with Sunnat; carefulness in eating [eat only
halal and avoid haram]; giving up the prohibited things openly and secretly; and
observing (these0 rules with patience until death."
He also said: "He who likes that the signs of Siddiq (the Truthful) be opened for him should not eat except lawful things and should not follow except the way of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam."
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
