Love Is Blind!

Julaybib wrote:

This is a story I read.

A man who worked in a hospital, one day came across a blind woman who was attending Braille, classes, the man being charmed by her personality fell deeply in love with her. He would spend all his spare time in her company.

He would engage in deep conversation with her, recite poetry, and keep her entertained with his jokes and stories. He finally proposed Marriage to her.

She said: " I am sorry I will not marry anyone whilst I am blind, and cannot even see his face." He proposed marriage to her many times, but she would always give the same reply.

The man took her to an expert eye surgeon, to see if something could be done.
The eye surgeon, announced some good news her sight could be restored. But she would need a transplant, of the corneas. The operation would cost a Hundred thousand dollars.

The Hospital orderly raised the money and finally the operation took place. After several weeks the Bandages were removed from her eyes. The operation had been successful her eyesight had been fully restored.

The man came to visit her and said; "will you now marry me." She looked at his face and noticed to her amazement that he was blind. She replied; " I am sorry but I will not marry a man who is blind."

So the man smiled, and walked away as he was walking he said; " My Love just make sure you do one thing, Please look after my eyes for you will never get another pair like them."

Something to reflect:

The lovers of this world are extremely ungrateful, let us not be deluded by their charms or beauty. Rather we should let our hearts be dominated by the Love Of Allah, and the love of those who are beloved to him. The Prophets the Awliya and the Saliheen. Most Importantly Habibullah, Our Prophet (Sallallahu Alaiyhi Wassallam, and let us follow his sunnah in our every action. For indeed we will never reach Allah until we Love The Prophet (Sallallahu alaiyhi Wassallam) as he should be loved.

May Allah guide us all and instill Love in all our hearts, and may he forgive a sinner like me ameen

Making Assumptions.

Julaybib wrote:

A Trader of a fabric Store, who was affectionately called Sufi Sahib. One day had a man come to his store. He started crying and said: "Sufi Sahib I have heard that you are a generous man, I feel ashamed to present myself before you but I have nowhere else to turn, I am a poor man I cannot find employment. At home I have small children who have not eaten for many days, please help me."

Sufi Sahib was extremely touched by the mans plight, he quickly went to his cabinet and took out a thousand rupees and handed the money to the man he said: " This is all the money I have on me right now so please take it and purchase some provisions for your children." The man thanked Sufi sahib profusely and left.

Suddenly everyday a new person would appear at Sufi Sahibs store, each with their sad story and asking for assistance, each time Sufi sahib would hand over some money. Finally one day Sufi Sahib mentioned to his friend the Tailor about this strange phenomena. The Tailor said; " My dear Sufi Sahib, you are indeed a fool these people are Professional beggars they have targetted many
other shopkeepers, I myself have been a victim of their fraud". Sufi sahib was shocked; "But they all sounded so genuine", he said. " Oh they always do, they are indeed very cunning;" replied the Tailor.

So the following morning an elderly man appeared at Sufi Sahibs store he said.
" My son I am a poor old man, who has no means of support, I have not eaten for several days please assist me, and indeed Allah will reward you for it."

Sufi sahib was extremely angry he said; " You beggars must really think I am some kind of fool everyday you come here telling me stories of poverty." saying that Sufi sahib grabbed the old man and threw him out of his shop. The old man sadly went on his way.

About an hour later Sufi sahib heard a commotion in the Bazaar and went to see what it was. He saw a Doctor crouched over that same old man, suddenly the Doctor turned to the crowd and announced; " poor chap has died of starvation looks like he has not had anything to eat for some weeks."

Sufi Sahib was overcome with grief and guilt, ten days in a row he had handed
over money too beggars. The first genuine person who had come asking for assistance at his store he had treated harshly, and now he was dead. " It is all my fault;" Sufi Sahib lamented; "If only I had not made a wrong assumption he would still be alive ."

Story by Julaybib.

Something to reflect:

Is this not the case with us we use our past experiences to make assumptions of others. For example in our daily lives we may be approached by people asking questions about Islam. cuz we have had a bad experience with others who were merely mocking Islam, we assume that this person is also the same, we may react harshly, driving that person away from Islam and being left with a bad opinion of all muslims.

How many young brothers have come of the streets, gone to the Masjid but only to be left disappointed by the behavior of others. Many of these brothers leave the Masjid never to return again.

May Allah guide us all and give us the tawfiq to act justly towards others ameen.

Look at your Heart!

Julaybib wrote:

A student of religious knowledge, developed the habit of going to the Bazaar and preaching. Everyday he would stand on a footstool, and start preaching to the people sitting in the Tea houses.

"Oh Heedless ones do you wish to face the punishment of Allah. You spend your entire days in fruitless pursuits engaged in gossip. What purpose does your life serve if it is not in the service of the deen. You should examine your hearts, and know that the punishment is severe for heedless ones."

He continued in this vain, for several weeks, suddenly the administrators of the Madrassah noticed that the number of worshipers attending the masjid attached next to the Madrassah had dwindled. They discovered the young mans preaching had driven them away.

The principle summoned the youngman and said; " Oh young man you have spent your days seeking out the faults of others, and now even those who used to attend the Masjid have stopped coming."

The young Talib replied; " Sir I have been trying to assist these people, by engaging in constructive criticism, my words were not to denegrate but rather to assist this people in realising their faults."

The Principle replied; " My son criticism is never constructive, rather gentle persuasion and Hikmah is required in helping people realise their faults. You have engaged in criticism of these people whilst you would be better served in
looking at yourself my son the first place is to start with yourself.

Take a look at your heart and consider this are you really in a position to admonish others, my son do not engage in those actions that will neither benefit you nor others.
My son you have been deceived by your own ego into thinking you were doing something religious whilst infact it has had an opposite effect. You have managed to drive away those who used to attend the Masjid."

Story By Julaybib.

Just a Reminder :

The above story is mostly a reminder for myself, more then anything else. Start With Yourself. Look at yourself, criticise yourself, and Leave others to themselves.Do not engage in discussions that neither benefit your duniyah nor your akhira.

Self Discipline.

Julaybib wrote:

A Student of knowledge arrived at a Masjid in a small village his intention was to spend some time In the Company of the Imam of the Mosque.

He had heard that this Imam was very pious and many people had benefitted spiritually by spending time in his company.

The elderly Imam welcomed him, and gave him permission to stay with him. The student noticed a strange thing People were coming to visit the Imam.
Imam Sahib after greeting each person, would take his walking stick and strike himself over the head. The People of the village did not seem to even notice this strange behavior.

Finally the student spoke up, he said; " Imam Sahib what is this strange
thing you keep doing, after greeting the local people you hit yourself on the head Why do you do this?" , The Imam replied, " My son when the locals visit me. They treat me with great respect. To remind myself and prevent myself from feeling any sort of pride, I hit myself on the head with my walking stick.
My son there is nothing that destroys a man like pride, If a man who works in the service of Deen feels proud of any spiritual endeavor, then he ends up destroying both his duniya and his Akhira. My Son, only those acts are accepted if they are done purely for the sake of Allah. If we are able to accomplish anything then we must remember that is Allah alone who has helped us accomplish this task, we should turn to him in gratitude."

For The Sake Of Allah.

Julaybib wrote:

Although I have relayed the following anecdote elsewhere, considering it is not only a great reminder, it also Shows the Greatness of Hazrat Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (Ra), I shall repeat it.

It is related that Abu Qahafah, Hazrat Abu Bakrs father, (Who was not yet a muslim) told his son:

" O my son I see you are spending your wealth in freeing weak slaves. Why don't you instead spend your wealth in winning powerful men who can help you and protect you?"

Hazrat Abu Bakr (Ra) replied: " O my father I am doing what I am doing only for the sake of Allah."

* Source Bilal Ibn Rabah (Ra) author Muhammad Abdul Rauf.

Something to reflect:

Is it not a case that majority of our efforts are directed at winning power and prestige. Also fame and praise amongst others how many of our acts are done
purely for the sake of Allah. Even when we do something good we feel the need to boast about it. We give a few dollars in charity we publicise it everywhere, even when we help our own relatives or friends we boast about it.

" So and so came to me for help and I assisted him, someone came to stay at my house as a guest and I prepared a special meal for him."

For the sake of showing off we end up losing the reward that we may have gained.

Let us remember the words of Hazrat Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (Ra) " I am doing what I am doing only for the sake of Allah ." Not for fame, not for prestige, not to win over friends, not to earn praise from others, not for pride, not to boast.
Purely for the sake of Allah.

May Allah Give us all the tawfiq to follow the example of
Hazrat Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (Ra) ameen.

Mildness In Character

Julaybib wrote:

The following is an anecdote from the Biography of Imam Abu Hanifa (Ra), written by Allama Shibli Numani (Ra).

One day whilst Imam Abu Hanifa (Ra) was taking a class, a man who bore him some grudge started saying improper things about him. The Imam paid no intention to the man and carried on with his teaching. He even told his pupils to pay no heed to him.

When after the class was over, he went out, the man followed him and continued abusing him. When they both reached the Imam's house, the latter stopped and, turning to the man he spoke gently and said; " My dear Brother we are now at the doorstep of my house. If you have anything more to say, say it, because I shall presently go in and you may not get another opportunity."

Something to ponder.

What is our condition, when someone makes a remark against us or insults us we feel the need to utter ten insults in return for each one that is directed towards us.

Our Pious predecessors submitted to the will of Allah. They Loved for the sake of Allah and disliked something for the sake of Allah. They became honored in both the duniya and the Heavens.

We complain about our personal difficulties, we complain about the state of the ummah. Yet when we live in such heedlessness then what do we deserve other then disgrace. Our pious Predecessors behaved in accordance with the Ikhlaq of the Prophet Of Allah (Sallallahu alaiyhi wasallam), they molded there every action in accordance with the sunnah.

Yet we are molded by our own egos, our pride and our vanities. Then what right do we have to complain when calamities afflict us. We are incapable of offering one Sajdah in humility, Yet we are quick to complain.

Fear Allah.

Julaybib wrote:

One day while walking in the street Imam Abu Hanifa (Ra) inadvertently stepped on a small boys foot. The Boy cried, " You don't seem to fear Allah". On hearing these words the Imam fainted. Mu'sir Bin Kudam, who was with him stopped him from falling and attended to him. As soon as he came to, Mu'sir asked; Why were you so perturbed by a little boys casual remark?" The Imam replied: Who knows this "was not an admonition from the unknown!"

Something to reflect:

Subhan'Allah, Imam Abu Hanifa (Ra), faints at the remark of a child and sees this as an admonishment.

What is our condition, we remain completely heedless numerous admonitions come to us yet the fear of Allah does not enter our hearts. We spend our time engaged in transgressions. We violate the rights of others...Indeed our hearts remain totally devoid of Imaan.

On Jealousy.

Julaybib wrote:

" Allah forbid, men should be Jealous of Knowledge as they are jealous of women."
Hadrat Umar Al Farooq (Ra)

There was once a village elder who made a very good living from his position, as the village Imam. The villagers would come to him, when they had problems and present him with gifts for making dua for the relief of their afflictions.

suddenly one day an Aalim arrived in the region and seeing the heedlessness of the People, he decided setup a small institute to depart religious knowledge and teach the people Hadith and Quran. The Aalims classes became extremely popular.

The village elder being informed of the Aalims new classes and seeing his position and Livelihood come under threat. Tried sabotaging the Study circles of the Aalim.

"Oh people" , he said; " you don't need to burden yourself with learning religious knowledge, carry on with earning your livelihoods, have I not been making duas on your behalf. I am here to address your problems and help relieve you of your distress. This mullah who has arrived is going to lead you and your children astray. You will be burdened with learning religious knowledge and not have time to earn an income, you will be inflicted with hardship and poverty."

The Aalim was informed of the village elders words he said; " Allah guides whom he pleases if Allah, guides the people through attending my Study cicrcles then all praise is to him, My duty is to teach the knowledge that I have learned and I leave the rest up to the Will of Allah."

It so happened that the people ignored the village elders remarks and carried on attending the classes. After a while the villagers relieved the elder of his position, and asked the Aalim to take over the position of Imam in the mosque.

The elder lost his prestige amongst the villagers. Very few people came to visit him anymore they now realised how ignorant the elder was in knowledge. The
old man having lost his position was now inflicted with poverty.

One day someone saw him sitting on his own under a tree and crying profusely the person said; " Oh foolish old man if you had not tried to sabotage the work of others in service of the deen. You would still be the Imam of the Masjid and hold a position of honor amongst the people. instead you have been disgraced."

The old man replied; " You are indeed right who could be more wretched than me. I tried to disgrace someone who was working for the sake of deen instead Allah has left me disgraced."

Written by Julaybib

Something to reflect:

How often have we seen an Aalim or someone else being slandered by people who are envious that he may become more popular then their own group or clique.

In virtually every work that is done in service of the deen we have people trying to sabotage it out of malice and envy. We have had some of the most esteemed religious personalities and Scholars right here in the U.K. who had been slandered with the most horrific allegations. Indeed the one's who smear and besmirch others are ultimately themselves left disgraced.

May Allah protect us from the diseases of jealousy and envy ameen.

Wisdom of As-Sideeq

Julaybib wrote:

Hazrat Ali al Hujweri (RA).in his treatise the Kashf Al Mahjoob. Narrates that.

It is recorded that Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) said: " Our abode is transitory, our life therein is but a loan, our breaths are numbered, and our indolence is manifest."

By this he signified that the world is too worthless to engage our thoughts; for whenever you occupy yourself with what is perishable, you are made blind to that which is eternal: the friends of God turn their backs on the world and the flesh which veil them from him, and they decline to act as if they were owners of a thing
that is really the property of another......

Something to Ponder:

" Our abode is transitory.."How many of our friends and relatives have passed on to the next life since last Ramadhan? how many of us will make it to the end of this Ramadhan?

How many of us will be still here during the month of Ramadhan next year?

Brothers and Sisters lets leave the Duniya aside during this blessed month and seek forgiveness, mercy and refuge with Allah almighty, let us express our gratitude for all the blessings Allah the Merciful has bestowed upon us. Let us make sincere tawbah for all the wrongs we have committed.let us increase our worship and seek refuge from laziness.

Let us take the opportunity to join ties and seek forgiveness of those from amongst our friends and relatives who we may have fallen out with it , over something petty. Surely our status is not lowered if we are the ones to apologise after all does it really matter who is right and who is wrong. who knows whether we will be here next year . let us take this opportunity to make amends Insha'allah.

Many speak of the merits of As-Siddeeq (RA) where are those who are willing to make the sacrifices of As-Siddeeq (RA), for the sake of the deen and purely for the pleasure of Allah and his Beloved (Sallallahu alaiyhi wasallam).

On Gratefulness

Julaybib wrote:

In the city of Ashkabad there lived a wealthy merchant, who was well known for his piety , generosity in helping others, and people out of affection called him the 'King of Ashkabad'.

The wealthy merchant upon reaching old age decided to have his will written, he had three children all of them daughters.

The most prized possession of the merchant was a Library containing 10,000 books and manuscripts. Scholars from all over the nation travelled to benefit from the vast knowledge contained in the Library.

The residents of Ashkabad were fascinated who would the ' King' entrust with this vast Library.

The wealthy Merchant called his three Daughters and announced I have now made my decision as to which one of you will be entrusted. He first spoke privately to the two oldest daughters Wasima and Nasima.

He said; "My Dear daughters I feel neither of you is capable of being entrusted with the Library. For it is a great responsibility and obligation, the Scholars from all over the nation use this Library, and dessiminate the knowledge contained within the books and manuscripts to the people. I have decided to handover this responsibility to your sister Yasmine, I believe she is the most capable."

Wasima and Nasima were incensed, after all they were both responsible women, they were both married with Children and nobody had cause to complain about them. Whilst Yasmine was only Sixteen years of age and she was yet to be betrothed.

" Oh father"; They said, "you have been most unjust to us, for indeed you have never shown us any affection, and never treated us with any love. It is Yasmine who has been the recipient of your grace and favours whilst we have been neglected."

The Old man spoke he said "My dear Daughters I did not make this decision to spite either one of you. I have handed over the Ownership of the Library because your Sister Yasmine possesses a quality that you are both deficient in."

"What quality?"; They asked sceptically after all they were both older and more mature and endowed with greater wisdom they felt.

The Old Merchant called in his Youngest Daughter Yasmine into his chambers.
He announced; " Yasmine I have decided not to hand over the ownership of the library to you for I feel you are neither worthy nor capable of being entrusted with it."

Yasmine replied; " My dear Father, I only seek your happiness for how can I express gratitude for all the blessings you have bestowed upon me, for I swear that there is no father like you in this entire city of Ashkabad. You have been loving and affectionate to us. My only wish is that Allah keeps you in the best of Health and gives you a long life...My father I find it really saddening that you are already writing out wills I pray that Allah lengthens your life.

For I swear if I was handed over all the wealth and the treasures in the world, I would sacrifice them all for just one hour of your company. My Father there is nothing in this world and all that it contains more precious to me than yourself."

The Wealthy merchant turned around to his two oldest daughters and said: "You see this is the quality I was speaking of both of you complained and said that I had been unjust and that I had never shown any favours to you. Yet your Sister has the quality of Shukr (gratefulness) that Allah has bestowed upon her. Therefore I deem her more worthy then yourselves."

Written by Julaybib.

Something to reflect.

Is it not a case that with even the minutest of tests in this life we quickly forget all the Blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us, and complain to each and everyone about our lack of wealth, our poor health so on and so forth.

We not only forget the Blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us we fail to even acknowledge them. If we achieve any wordily success we boast and brag as to how clever we are, how hardworking and intelligent we are, we fail to Praise Allah for these Blessings, for verily all success is through him.

Yet when we are tested with afflictions we complain that Allah has abandoned
us. Indeed we are ingrates even our expressions of Alhamdulillah are said hypocritically, they are completely devoid of sincerity.

When we are incapable of offering one Sajdah in Gratitude what right do we have to complain about our situations. certainly our entire lives pass by yet not once do we utter the words Alhamdulillah with complete sincerity for if we did. Then Allah would have made this entire world submit to us.

The Sahabah Ikraam were tested severely yet in each and every situation they Praised Allah, and Allah honored them and all the creation was made to submit before them. So Brothers and Sisters let us express Shukr for all the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us and Insha'allah, Allah will increase us in our wealth, health, and Imaan.

May Allah give us all Hidayah especially a Hypocrite and sinner like me and forgive us all for our sins

Find me a wife...............

Julaybib wrote:

Young Brother had recently started practicing so he went to his parents and said: "I want to get married and find me a wife who is religious."

My son the Father responded: " We will need to take other things into consideration such as compatibility." The Son said: " There is no need for any other criteria I want a wife who is a strong practicing Muslimah."

So the Parents found him a religious wife named Shakira, a few weeks
went by after his marriage, and oneday he came to his parents house, "I want a divorce", he said: " I can't live with that woman." The Parents were perplexed:

" Our son your wife is extremely pious, there is no flaw or defect in her character that we have noticed, you asked us to arrange your marriage with a wife that is Pious, we acceded to your wishes now what is the problem ? "

He said: " I asked you to find me a wife who is religious, but you have got me married to a religious fanatic.

last week I nearly got run over by a car while I was crossing the street, I came home hoping for some sympathy, instead the Woman was overjoyed she said, " How wonderful, Allah has preserved you and you only suffered a small graze,
let us Pray to Allah in gratitude, things could have been much worse."

This week I had my hours at work reduced, I went home and told her, and she said: " Alhamdulillah , things could have been much worse, If you had lost your job completely then we would have faced great difficulties, let us Pray some Nafl Salah and express our Shukr to Allah."

Yesterday I went Shopping for a new suit, I managed to find a store, which had a sale on and the suit was half the price of all the other stores. I went home and told her this, she said: " Allah has blessed you with a wonderful saving, let us express our gratitude to him, and my husband it would also be best if you spent the money you saved on charity, after all it was an unexpected saving you had intended to spend the money on clothes, so why not give this money to someone who is poor."

The Father responded: " Oh My son you have been blessed with a wife who is a treasure, a shakira not only in name but also in actions, yet how ignorant you are..and how unfortunate she is to be married to a foolish one like you.

You wanted a religious wife yet you do not even know that Allah blesses those who express gratitude and Praise him in every situation. those who are grateful are blessed with greater wealth and prosperity and the goodness of both the duniya and akhira. Go back to your wife patiently act in accordance with her advice and you will experience many blessings."

So the Son reluctantly went back to his wife Shakira, and indeed his parents were, right Allah blessed both him and his wife with wealth and pious children.

They became highly respected members of the community and were admired by everyone, and in this way Allah had also honored them in the sight of others.

Written by Julaybib.

Something to Ponder:

How often do we express gratitude for each and every moment in our daily lives? normally you find people complaining non stop over trivial things they missed the sale at the local store. "I always have the worst luck they moan." well how often do we express gratitude when we save a dollar or a dime how many of us consider the wealth we save as a blessing. Do we consider an accident or Illness that wasn't worse as a blessing. The loss of a Job as a blessing and an opportunity to explore new horizons....In reality we experience many blessings every single moment of everyday but we take them for granted. Even things that we consider calamities turn out to be blessings in the long term.

Yet we are quick to complain , on very trivial issues. Yet we rarely express gratitude for the many blessings we experience.

May Allah Give us the Tawfiq to be more Grateful and bless us with the truly wonderful gifts of Sabr and Shukr ameen.

Increase Your Provisions.

Julaybib wrote:

Hazrat Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, Says: " Whoever enters his grave without Provisions
is like the one who mounts the sea without a ship."

It was the month of Ramadhan and Hafsa was pleading with her 17 year old son Salim, " My son; she said: " This is the Month of Ramadhan, it is the month of blessings you should fast and increase your Ibaadah, it is one of the pillars of Islam."

"Mum stop doing my head in", responded Salim: " I will worry about these things when I get Old like you, now is the time to enjoy life after all your only young once."

As he slammed the door behind him...a few moments later Hafsa noticed a crowd gathered in the street she went to see what it was. When she got near the crowd she noticed it was Salim he was laying lifeless on the floor. she screamed in anguish, " what has happened?" someone responded this young man slipped and fell ( whilst he was walking) his head hit the ground. When onlookers went to help him it was too late, for his soul had already left his body.

Just one slip is all it took, young 17 year old Salim with his plans and dreams and a false belief that he was going to live forever, had perished.

The mother cried her heart shattered into a million pieces. But alas Salim was on his own, with only his deeds good and bad to accompany him.

Something to Ponder:

Time is short and death is calling, who knows when our time will be up. lets increase our provisions, during this sacred month of Ramadhan. Who knows if we will be here next Ramadhan.

Lets not let ourselves be distracted by the duniya. We should reflect in what state we will enter our graves. we deceive ourselves into thinking we are going to live to a ripe old age. we could leave this world and all its pleasures and attractions at anytime only provision to help us will be will be our good deeds.

How many people of our age and in the prime of their youth have passed on to the next world. We attend funerals, we see the faces of the deceased yet our hearts remain heedless. it has no impact on us.

Lets take this opportunity to repent for our sins, seek forgiveness sincerely for all the wrongs we have committed. Praise Allah for all the blessings that have been bestowed upon us.

For Tomorrow it could be our funeral taking place, lets use this month as an opportunity to make amends with our Loved ones, leave our Petty disputes
and vendettas behind. We say Life is to short to bear grudges, yet all we do is carry them with us. Often people forget what the original argument was over,
in their Mutual dislike they seek to humiliate or disgrace each other.

So let us increase our Provision of good deeds and leave everything else behind during this sacred month.

May Allah give us all hidaya and may he take our souls in the state of Imaan ameen.

P.S. I humbly request your duas Insha'Allah

Removal of sorrows

Julaybib wrote:

A Scholar was leaving the Masjid and he saw a young man, crawling on his hands for he had no feet.

The Scholar greeted him and asked; " Young Man you have been tested by this affliction yet you seem to have great patience I do not detect any self pity in your demeanor tell me how you have managed to acquire such patience."

The Young man smiled and replied; " Oh Shaykh I had heard great things about you, but I am amazed as to how someone can be as knowledgeable as you and remain so ignorant. I lost my feet in an accident, I was gripped by Self pity why me I asked! everyday I complained to anyone who would listen I would tell them my tales of Sorrow. after a while each and every person turned their backs, no one would come to visit nobody wished to listen to my sad tale.

Finally in the stillness of the night in my loneliness and despair I turned towards, My Lord most High, I shed tears and spoke of the grief that encompassed my heart., at that moment my Lord took pity upon me, he removed the sorrow and instilled peace and tranquility in my heart. Now whenever despair overcomes me I speak to My Beloved Allah and to him alone I relate my problems and he always gives me strength in dealing with my difficulties. For who else can remove difficulties of those who are in distress."

The Scholar said; " Young Man you are very wise before you depart give me some counsel."

The young Man Said; " Oh shaykh this is a world of Sorrows and trials, if You complain to others you will find that they either do not not care or they are powerless to help you.

Turn To Allah whether your problems are small or great, for he is indeed the Most Merciful, and he will never forsake you, he is the best of Guardians and the best Of protectors."

May Allah bless us all with the wonderful gifts , of Sabr Shukr and Sakeena ameen.

Malady Of Laziness.

Julaybib wrote:

A student of knowledge was sitting in the Company of Shaykh Saleem, the Shaykh advised the student to Translate some religious works into English.

The student responded; " Sir I will start next week Insha'Allah."

"Why next week why not today? asked the Shaykh; "He further stated; " My son great works have been neglected and delayed until tomorrow! Many a great plan has been made but never carried out, those who waited till tomorrow have themselves left this world; Tell me if Iwere to tell you that in a certain village a Mountain of Gold has been discovered will you wait till tomorrow to rush there and get a share of the Wealth?

" No, I would set of straight away" , said the Student.

The Shaykh replied; " Yet when it comes to accruing the Wealth of the akhirah you delay till tomorrow, this is the Malady that afflicts many people. They are going to increase their Ibaadah, next Jumah or they are going to do it in Ramadhan; They keep saying they will but they never do.

"My son a person who keeps delaying till tomorrow will be at a loss, in both the duniyah and the akhirah..he will never achieve success. Be a man of action , never delay a righteous act, for who knows whether another opportunity will arrive or not, death awaits for no one."

Something to Ponder:

Is it not a fact that when it comes to a matter of duniyah most people never put it off. If there is a sale on at a Particular store they are the first ones to queue at the door before the store opens. If it is an issue of acquiring worldly wealth People hasten to acquire it.

But when it comes to the deen they keep delaying, unitl next Jumah, next Ramadhan...or in some cases "until I am Older". who knows how long we have left , let us not be distracted by the duniyah, for death can arrive at any moment,

Some unfortunate individuals are inflicted so badly by this Malady of Laziness that they waste their duniyah as well. They talk about one day starting a new course in college. or starting a new business a new career. years and decades go by, and they accomplish nothing. Neither for their own worldly benefit nor for their akhirah. Opportunities are lost.

The Person may develop a stronger desire to achieve things, but they may no longer have the Health to help them take advantage of those Opportunities.

May Allah Remove this Malady of Laziness from our hearts , Ameen.

A man came to Shaykh Saleem, and said; " Shaykh I have spent my life in heedlessness, I have recently learned the beauty of Islam, give me some Wise counsel."

Shaykh Saleem, replied; " My son do your obligatory acts and remain steadfast, upon the deen and strive patiently."

The shaykh pointed towards three Labourers that he had hired for his construction business, he said; " Out of these three Labourer's you have one who is very enthusiastic, he is doing the work of 10 men, in a few days he will become exhausted both physically and emotionally, he will find no matter how fast he tries to complete the Work there is still more left to do. He will eventually end up quitting the job altogether.

"The second one, he is Lazy, he reacts lazily to everything he does, he tries taking shortcuts, but only ends up having to do the work again because it was deficient in the first place, he keeps taking one step forward and two steps back, ending up exactly where he started. He will also leave the Job unable to cope with the demands.

" The Third one, he is working at a steady pace neither over exerting himself, to the point of exhaustion, nor being lazy. He takes Pride in his work, and does it with great concentration and to perfection. This man will make great strides and will eventually become a manager.

So my son be like this, labourer and slowly but surely you will see your Imaan, increase, and your relationship with Allah become closer."
