I'm not knowledgeable in the field of combat, but I kind of disagree, or in fact would just like to add a little something.

As far as I recall, there are two types of brothers, or maybe even three or more.

The first type of brother is the blood brother, the second type of brother is the brother in Faith, the third type would be the geographical brother (i could be wrong) and of there is a fourth or even more, then that would be the brotherhood of the Prophet's.

It's not necessary for a believer to be in combat in a justified holy war not to be the brother of another believer NOT in combat.

The relationship in the Eye's of our Creator, is that of those in Faith!

i agree there can be many types of brotherhood but the term brothers in humanity for kuffaar of dar ul harb is just tragic (i personally find it reprehensible for any kafir in fact). now a kafir is either dhimmi, muahid or mustamin otherwise he is a combatant. now which category do the majority population of britain fall in?

when a Muslim's relation with dar ul harb should be of war only (unless kuffar give him amaan and actually give it not just say it) then i dont see how anyone can invoke brotherhood which only dilutes how fiqh treats these people. anyhow this is a very long discussion involving things which cant be publicly stated here.

Listened to bro Nauman Ali Khan's speech regarding this issue, and really liked this statement, that as there mocking isn't justified, similarly we are not justified when we don't look in the mirror. We have to start looking in the mirror. (i.e we need to do our islah, we need to fix ourselves).
Waqa'ii, these kuffar are doing this because we are, in total, away from our Religion, Allah and our Beloved Prophet saww. We don't care for Allah's and his Prophet's consent regarding any issue.
What to say about college or uni students, I have even seen madrassa students cheating during papers while sitting in Masjid, inna lillahi wa inna ilaihe raajioon. So, we really need to do islah. This is the only solution to these issues....

one cannot do islah without doing what our religion demands of us in such situations. improving ourselves is a constant struggle, that doesn't mean we should quit communal obligations. when whole of the deen isn't followed and only that part is followed that is allowed by the US government then i wonder how we think Allah (SWT) will alleviate our problems?

that is what these western daees do not say.

i have demonstrated to you via a sheikh's words that the kuffaar in western dar ul harb do not allow Muslims to fulfill some of their faraidh in open. so even if someone is allowed to wear a beard or niqab yet other faraidh they are stopped from, then their justification for living in dar ul harb (not just a non muslim country) is finished.

I didn't say that don't act on what our religion demands in such situations.
Islah is a continuous struggle, only if someone tries to do that.
I very clearly wrote that as there mocking isn't justified, similarly we are not justified when we don't look in the mirror.
So, I think that looking in the mirror, doesn't mean, "stop acting on what shariah says in these issues".

Charlie Hebdo Attack – An Islamic Perspective

Moulana Yusuf Patel (Secretary-General of the United Ulama Council of South Africa)

All praise is due to Allah and may His choicest salutations continue to descend upon our Master and Leader Mohammed Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam.

Respected Brothers and Sisters in Islam

“O You who Believe! Let not some among you laugh at others; it may be that they are better than them, nor let some women laugh at other; it may be that they are better than them. Nor defame yourselves, nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by offensive nicknames….” (Quran Surah 49, Verse 11)

The deadly shootings at the offices of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo have once again put the spotlight on Islam and Muslim. There are several theories behind the killings:

1. This was an Islamic State operation in response to the US led offensive against IS in Iraq. France has played a leading role and stands as one of the strongest ally of the US in its fight against the IS.

2. This was an Al Qaida backed attack which goes back to its 2013 fatwa of ‘wanted dead or alive for crimes against Islam’ against the editors of the newspaper.

3. This was a false flag operation carried out in the name of Islam and Muslims to set the stage for more draconian 9/11 type of laws to deal with perceived terrorist activity. Or it may be that Paris is being punished for its pro- Palestinian vote? One month ago the lower house voted to recognize Palestine as a state. The fact that Muslims have been blamed for the killings based on one person chanting the takbeer and another saying that the Prophet has been avenged is hardly evidence enough to lay the blame of the Muslims.

4. This is but a response to the growing marginalization of the Muslims in France.
•Muslims constitute approximately 6 million out of a total population of 61 million. 85% of France is Roman Catholic. Muslims make up just fewer than 10%.
•France has banned the hijab and has disallowed the building of minarets
•60% of prison inmates in France are Muslim.
•Muslims live in ghetto like areas in abject poverty.
•Muslims have been continually humiliated in the press by the likes Charlie Hebdo. It is one of the most offensive, racist and malicious publication which makes its money by jeering, mocking, vilifying Islam and Muslims. It had published a naked caricature of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam the publication has been deliberately provocative and challenging 1.6 billion Muslims.

What is our response?

1. As Muslims we do not endorse, sanction or encourage extra judicial killings. We do not believe in kangaroo court justice. No individual should take the law into his hands.

2. We do not shed tears for the racist, hateful staff of Charlie Hebdo who took such pleasure in spitting at 1.6 billion Muslims. We do feel pity for them…pity that they chose to live a life of hate and die a death of hate. We pity them for being consumed and blinded by such racist aversion

3. The West has to re- interrogate its stubborn adherence to the principle of freedom of speech. Freedom of speech has legitimised slander, insults, vilification, rumour mongering and disgrace which is more consistent with the dark ages of indiscriminate brutality.

4. In Islam freedom of speech is underpinned by the protection of honour and dignity. Freedom of speech in not absolute! Every right comes with a corresponding responsibility.

5. The Quran describes Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam as a ‘mercy unto mankind’ Charlie Hebdo portrays him to be a monster and curse to mankind. Will we ever take up the cudgels to show how exactly Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam served as a mercy to mankind?

“It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher.” [Annie Besant, The Life and Teachings of Muhammad]

Nice response, but the Shaykh failed to point out the actual crime with its given name, "BLASPHEMY".

The bigger problem is that we are dealing with people who follow a faith in which the fundamental laws of their adopted/diluted religion is based on BLASPHEMY.

The Christian faith is Blasphemous, the Jews openly do it too, in fact in America they even took God to court.

Name calling, slanderous remarks, rumours, all this is part of their everyday life, and unfortunately also part of ours too. So it doesn't seem so effective.

It's blasphemy that the Muslims don't do and won't tolerate. The western world has made us so used to these other things and we find it normal. Astagfirullah.

The kuffaar have taught us, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never harm me" and we've become so accustomed to this that it's something we teach our young children.

Anti-Charlie Hebdo protests in Karachi turn violent

pakistanherald
A protest organised by Islami Jamiat Talaba's Karachi chapter turned violent when a clash took place between protesters and police. Security forces resorted to aerial firing, tear gas and water cannons to push back the charged mob-

Three party workers, who were affected by tear gas, have been transferred to the nearest hospital. AFP photographer, Asif Hasan, was shot while covering the rally and is in critical condition. Another reporter was also injured in the clashes.

Following the skirmish, all roads leading to Teen Talwar have been cordoned off while businesses in the vicinity have been shut down.

Hundreds of people had gathered at Teen Talwar to register their protest over the publication of a blasphemous cartoon disrespecting Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) by French magazine Charlie Hebdo.

NA adopts resolution against blasphemous Charlie Hebdo cartoons
The rally comes a day after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif led Parliament in condemning the cartoons.
Today's rally was aimed at registering its protest outside the French Consulate building.
City police had blocked all the roads leading to the consulate and had stopped protesters from marching towards the consulate.
The protesters were seen carrying batons in order to avoid tear gas shelling.
Police said they were trying to control the situation by forcing the crowd to disperse but protesters kept on hurling stones at them.
A contingent of Rangers' personnel had reached the protesting site to help the police in controlling the charged crowd.

Rallies observed in Lahore, Islamabad

Rallies are also being carried out in the capital Islamabad and the eastern city of Lahore against the controversial cartoons.
Religio-political groups of all schools of thought are observing today as a black day against the French magazine. The Tehreek Hurmat-i-Rasool, a conglomerate of 20 plus groups, Jamaat-i-Islami, Jamatud Dawa, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, Sunni Tehreek and Sunni Ittehad Council also announced on Thursday launching a countrywide protest movement against the publication.

12 dead in shooting at Paris offices of satirical magazine

Last week, the magazine's offices in Paris were attacked by gunmen, killing 12 people in cold blood in the worst attack in France in decades.

Victims included four prominent cartoonists, among them the editor-in-chief, Stephane Charbonnier, who had lived under police protection for years after receiving death threats.

The satirical newspaper gained notoriety in Feb 2006 when it reprinted sacrilegious cartoons that had originally appeared in Danish daily Jyllands-Posten. The cartoons set off a wave of violence in the Middle East which claimed 50 lives.

Its offices were fire-bombed in Nov 2011 when it published an objectionable sketch. Despite being taken to court under anti-racism laws, the weekly continued to publish controversial cartoons.

Hollande hails 'reborn' Charlie Hebdo as magazine sells out

Earlier this week, the publication ran its first issue since the attacks, featuring a bearded man holding a sign reading “Je suis Charlie” (“I am Charlie")

The magazine, which last month did not have enough money to pay staff wages, could raise as much as 10 million euros in sales and donations since the attack.

Peshawar rally pays tribute to Charlie Hebdo attackers

While last week's attack sparked global outrage, dozens of people in Peshawar paid tribute Tuesday to the brothers who carried out the murders.

The small-scale event was led by local cleric Maulana Pir Mohammad Chishti.

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar lauds Charlie Hebdo attackers

The Jamat-ul-Ahrar faction of the Pakistani Taliban meanwhile issued a statement lauding the two brothers who carried out the Charlie Hebdo assault.

Petition

We want to know the boundaries and limits to the term "Freedom of Speech" in the UK.
When Jews are ridiculed, it's Anti-semitism. When ethnic minorities are targeted, it's racism. When Islam is defamed, it's "Freedom of Speech"?!
We call on the British Government to draw the lines for us, what's acceptable, what's not?
We want a common law for ALL.
We want to detach ourselves from these never-ending Double-standards.
It's the least we can do.

We demand a legal, binding definition of "Freedom of Speech and Expression" - e-petitions
