Asslamo Allaikum,
I would like to hear people's views on why a number of people in the Ummah abandon Taqleed of Madhabs?
Jazakallahu Khayran

In my limited experience in USA and Europe a large number of Muslims abandoning Madhabs fall into 3 categories:
Exceptions apply ofcourse.
Those who are trying to counter this approach (inadvertently) reinforce it by giving a name instead of evidence i.e. the famous incident in London where a well known Shaykh was told to follow “Shaykhul-Hadeeth (Maulana) Zakariyya Kandhalwi (RA)” because he taught Hadeeth for 50 years!
It was deemed that this would be enough to present as evidence.

We are coming at the issue from two different perspectives.
One is the mindset and the other is the argument, I am looking at former while you are looking at later.
Following Dr Zakir Naik is a "mindset" issue as well as an "argument"
Those watching Dr Zakir Naik in a suit and tie on their TV screen may also have hidden feelings against their "Maulana" who:
Only defeating the argument is 50% effective (in my opinion).

This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
