I remember a friend contacted one seal skin sock manufacturer, and remember that the reply given to his questions were not satisfactory and that the information was sent to a mufti to look into, will dig out email and post inshallah

Is water-resistance really the only significant requirement? I think even leather socks (khuffain) are not completely water-resistant. Do they only need to resist enough water for masah with wet fingers?

Also, what about the other few requirements for masah?
