Ice bucket challenge

Question:

Asww. Hope all is well Inshāllah. A quick question, in light of the recent craze behind the ice bucket challenge, is this ethically correct to do for raising money for Gaza, Syria etc?

————

Answer:

No it’s not right

1, There is tashabbuh bil kuffaar in there. Many celebrities have taken part in it, so mushabahat increases.

2, Many have sustained injuries. Some fell unconscious; Risking injury is not permitted

3, It’s done for show or fun. Many people don’t pay their pledge. Lying and cheating is haraam

Avoid it!!
Good intention doesn’t make wrong right; A Zaani could say I fornicated to help the prostitute.

It's the devils deception!

I wonder what they would do for an African Drought!

Only one thing I see coming out of this on the slight positive side is that it is showing the people who is supporting the Gazan's from the Kuffar.

I was looking for something else when I came across this fatwa. Their are muslim sisters who have taken part in this challenge for charity and whom are nominating others to take the challenge.

I don't get it, you give to charity with good intention and forget about it, the reward lies with Allah. Don't see the point of doing activities, if it's money someone needs you give money, if it's clothing you give clothing, if it's food you give food. Why do people complicate the simplest of things in life.
