Hey, these are recorded stats. In other poorer countries, the number is much higher, recorded or not recorded for many reasons. Some of them being "name, fame, respect, society, position" and many more. For this reason how many more don't even report the horrendous incidents.

This is India, a mixed religion country. I don't even want to think about the Pathetickistan situation. I'm sure they are much worse and it has nothing to do with Islam or shariah.

I have a feeling its more related to Music and movies. Too much fitnah and its such a norm in those countries, including Pathetickistan.

No, most welcome, you can do as you wish. Your points are very strong to prove this rape culture.
But I could not find India in this list.

Bro. The statistics will have only registered rape cases. In India women have 'comparitively' more haya(modesty). So less cases come out in the open. Rape n physical abuse of women is rampant in India. Ofcourse some places are safer. I ve heard that Mumbai is much safer than Delhi. But still its a huge issue out there.

Most of the laymen wont hear about rape cases other than in media. My friend who is a doctor with community medicine MD. The kind of doc who goes to rural area, deals with social n preventive diseases. He told me that he came across a case in which a 9 year old girl was being repeatedly raped by her father n uncle and the mother doesnt bat an eyelid. Numerous such stories come across social workers which common people never hear. So kindly dont be quick to dismiss this issue bro.

True, sadly a lot of these folks are into incest.

It's alarming to see how many Indians like this sort of stuff, disgusting.

Alcoholism is a major factor here. It is the key to all sins.

Many more such unreported heinous cases may be cited in our Indian society. This disgusting satanic act can't be justified at all.

But if unbiasedly observed west is more advanced than India in committing such cases.

Why a man changes into beast and transgresses defined human values.

Either the perpetrators of this abominable crime are from India or any another country must be given severe punishment in public .

An 80-year-old man has been accused of locking up his daughters and raping them over a period of more than 40 years, in the latest incest allegations to shock Austria.
In echoes of the Josef Fritzl case, police are investigating allegations that the man's two daughters had been imprisoned in their home near the town of Braunau am Inn, by the German border, since 1970.
He allegedly sexually and physically abused the sisters, now aged 45 and 53, for almost all of their lives, until they escaped earlier this year.
The women were taken in by social services in May, but their story only became public on Thursday when an Austrian newspaper printed a report about the alleged abuse.
The suspect, from the village of St Peter am Hart, has been named by the Austrian media as Gottfried W, according to the Austro-German tradition of not fully identifying criminal suspects. He was arrested on Thursday afternoon and taken into custody, said Alois Lissl, a senior state police official.
The suspect faces charges of rape and other sexual offences, abusing or neglecting minors and defenceless people, threatening behaviour, coercion, and causing bodily harm, police said.
According to the Obersterreichische Nachrichten newspaper, the sisters managed to flee during a rape attempt by the father. The older woman fought back and knocked him over, leaving him unable to get up. He was discovered on the floor several days later by a social worker. The paper also claimed the suspect used to threaten them with a pitchfork and a stick.
"Both women have mental deficiencies and suffered permanent beatings and violence," Hermann Feldbacher, a spokesman for the police department of the province of Upper Austria told Reuters.
"They became dependent on their father and were so withdrawn and mentally disabled that they couldn't cope on their own and were unable to leave the house unless he wanted this."
Police said in a statement that the women have accused the 80-year-old of repeatedly raping them between 1970 and May 2011."In addition, he allegedly forbade [his daughters] from forging any contact with the outside world and lived with them in one room of their house," said the statement.
The alleged victims also claim they were forced to sleep on a wooden bench in the kitchen.
Lissl said that during questioning the women claimed their father repeatedly warned he would kill them if they resisted him, occasionally threatening them with firearms, and said that their mother, who died two years ago, was also repeatedly abused by the suspect. None of the family have been named by police.
The allegations evoke the case of Austrian Josef Fritzl, who imprisoned his daughter in a windowless cellar for 24 years and repeatedly raped her, fathering her seven children. Fritzl was sentenced to life imprisonment two years ago for that crime and for responsibility in the death of one of the children.
It was also reminiscent of the kidnapping of Austrian schoolgirl Natascha Kampusch, who escaped from her captor in 2006 after being held for eight years in a basement. Her abuser killed himself shortly after her escape.
Police said they were still investigating whether the women in the latest case had learning disabilities or whether their condition could be a result of what they lived through.
"It seems possible that after 40 years of abuse they suffered psychological effects, but it could also be that someone who is already mentally disabled is the ideal victim for abuse," Feldbacher added.
The women are currently being housed in a care shelter and receiving psychiatric treatment.
Local police commander Martin Pumberger said the suspect denies the accusations, adding it was up to the regional state prosecutor's office to now decide whether to formally charge him.

Akhii don't try to make this thread a thread 'you vs us' as this is what it's not about. Also patriosim, nationalism is rotten so leave it. So stop your rhetoric.

I've bolded certain part of your statement above and I severely disagree. I'll tell you why :

- If women weren't safe here to a certain extent then half the world wouldn't flock to the west with their families.

- Woman here don't go out to the fields/parks/toilets and get gang raped.

-Women here don't get killed after a rape or hanged from a tree.

- Incest is rare here in the west. in fact I would to a certain extent it's part of the old Hindu/Sikh culture I won't say why/how here as it'll disgust everyone.

- Also here you'll end up on the sex offenders register, you certainly won't getting no jobs, when your in prison your life will be made hell people will try to kill you, once out if people figure who you are they'll target you. Paedophiles have a hard time here my patriotic Hindu loving friend, but what do they get in India for incest, maybe a slap on the wrist or it's ignored completely, it's the norm there ?

- Women are not gang raped on public transport.

-People don't kill their old parents here. I forgot the term used for this but we had a thread on SF about it too.

-People don't bury their daughters here alive only because they are born female

- My final point there is a justice system here and they'll catch you even if its 20 years later but in most cases they normally do. But your whole system is corrupt.

Once again my apologies for posting about your Bharat/mother India. - the land of the Hindus.

A lot of the English legal system even today is based on the old common law system. A lot of rules have stayed the same for centuries, however some rules have also changed with the passage of time and society, such as a mans house is his castle and others such as no thing as martial rape. However now you can even get done for raping your wife, it'll constitute tape if there weren't consent. Criminal law has two main principles 'actus rea and mens rea', it's a complex field but there's law as to how to go through things, a procedure, yes it can be rigid and some may argue it's ancient, but it is in favour of the oppressed/raped/female. Women can claim rape here very easily on the basis of not consenting, however it's still more in favour of a victim, now whether that victim is honest or not is a different thing and is often established for sure later on.

Gang rape in India is one side but there are millions of of cases of exploitation and abuse which are unpunished. Will Indian (BJP) Government addressing this (and other cases) change the issue in India?

Heck no! The solution is adopting Shariah (or even their own religion)

Agreed, but they won't be happening and you know that too. Lets see if they do anything this time since its all over international media, probably will die down with time unfortunately.
