Two more old threads based on what Mufti Saab tried to explain to me.

I'm using the phone and the letters I intend to show in the threads are not showing, not sure how they show on a PC. But I guess you will get the gist of what the Mufti was trying to say.

"Spell it right or get a totally different meaning when translating the English back into Arabic, especially for non Muslims who study Arabic and English, the end results could be disastrous."

This is similar to what Mufti AS Desai said about not spelling Ulama with an H at the end of it. The meaning/letters change the word and could have a different meaning than intended.

Mufti Shamim always purchased licensed software for his computer. Whenever he wanted to do work on someone else's computer, he would ask if the software was legally licensed and not a copy. If it was a copy, he would not touch the computer and wait till he got home.

He had so much fear that he wouldn't even use copied software on someone else's pc.

Before buying anything (like software) he would thoroughly research the product and then by the best of the best and never settled for less. His work was worth every penny he spent on it.

Waalaykum salaam,

Unfortunately not. I was notified with the details in the morning and not got the chance. Something I'll regret for a long time.

Mufti Shamim made arrangements a couple of years ago with some people including Mufti Abdur Rahman and had asked for Mufti Faruq to perform his janazah and selected the cemetery of Romford road for his burial.

May Allah reward brother Dawood Akhoon (from the Lib dems) for his khidmah for many years. He took good care of him MashaAllah. Mufti Sahib loved him like a son.

As far as I know and I could be wrong, he didn't have any relatives. He had many people from his country who knew him very well, for Example Maulana Iqbal (don't know the surname) of Stamford Hill. Mufti Shamim knew Maulana Iqbal's father very well from Burma.

i think he did have relatives. not sure if he was a nephew or 'distant' nephew (or another family member). He attended the janaza and was also present when the news originally broke of Mufti sabs passing on Tues (had to deal with next of kin type procedural/civil issues).

Mufti Shamim was the last surviving Khalifa of a particular hazrat. I can't recall the name, but if someone knows, please let me know.

Also, did Mufti Abdur Rahman tweet about it? I've been waiting to read it and today checked online but couldn't find anything.
