distance between Lower point of India - Kanyakumari(A district in Madras State) and Jammu Kashmir is around 3.3K kms.
Islamabad to Istanbul is 4.9 K kms; hence its possible to connect.

Any plans to connect to Delhi? that would be awesome!!
We will carry Indian Masala Chai, Garam Garam Samosa, Aaloo Paratha with Pickle - yummy:: in our pantry till the destination....

Its a speech by the Minister of Railways and apart for the one line abut Istanbul its full of statistics and money figures. It is a cherished dream of every Pakistani Railway minister to be linked with Istanbul (and they have been talking about it for decades) but this time it appears serious.

Its not a mjor task and you just have to link with Iran which onwards connects to Turkey anways. Its in both Pakistan and Iran's Nation interest to be linked with Turkey for obvious financial (reasons) but in case of Pakistan (being Sunni) its also for religious and historic reasons.

Turkish Ulamah and delegations are treated like Royalty in Pakistan, second only to the Bandit-King of Saudia.

AKP's Turkey has gained serious currency in Pakistan!

This would be a great move. If institutes like the EU can open up borders, have unified law etc why is it difficult for the Muslims. I guess we shall need to work on it. It is a great plan and may ALLAH make it succeed.
