Very useful index Jazakallah khair.

Maulana Thanwi's advice regarding tableegh is also very powerful - I think you missed that in the index.

Important bayaans to understand and rectify mistakes in the effort.

(with part summaries) (bayaan language indicated)

001. This Dec 2013 URDU bayan of Maulana Sa'ad Kandhlawi (db) deals with the misunderstanding that one cannot give Dawat until he himself is doing good & has ceased comitting evil: Click [Courtesy of a brother who isn't a member of MS].

002. This 2013 URDU bayan of Maulana Bilal (db) of Kenya on how to create and increase yaqeen (faith / certitude) through the effort and how islah is achieved (Islah happens when you go in gusht to the people who are against the work and or you - islah is NOT achieved when you keep going to the same people over and over again who like the work) - Click

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

This Arabic book The Comprehensive Crown for Usool in the Effort of Rasool, by Shaikh Muhammad Ali Muhammad Imam (of Masjid Mu'awiyah in Amman, Jordan), published by Darul Kutub wal Watha'iq along with Darul Kutub Misriyyah was sent me to me by a friend of mine around a week ago. I have niyyah to translate it little by little إن شاء الله. I thought to post the actual pages in Arabic along with what is translated so that others can contribute if any translation corrections need to be made. Anyways...here goes. بسم الله الرحمن اللرحيم

Introduction

All praise is for Allah. He provides His bounties and increases rewards. We send salutations and peace on the best of His creation and the choicest of His Ambiya and Rusul, our noble leader, Muhammad Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. After that:

My beloved brother and Da'ee (caller) to Allah,

we now continue with the selected series from the words of the people of Tabligh. I intend to invite to it (the book) with a new cover. We are on the 11th part from the series, which I named:

التاج الجامع للأصول في جهد الرسول

The comprehensive crown for Usool (principles) in the effort of Rasool

(The academic curriculum for the day of one who is out in the path of Allah)

Part 1

Included in the program for the Jama'ah (group) that is out in the path of Allah 'Azza wa Jall are proofs that are derived from the Qur'an, Sunnah and the lives of the Sahabah Radhiyallahu 'anhum ...and words from the Qudama (seniors) in the work of Da'wah and Tabligh, those who benefited from the company of the Masha'ikh and 'Ulama of Tabligh; those who dedicated their lives to this great effort. Because of their effort and sacrifices, Allah enlightened their insight, in confirmation to what Allah Jalla wa 'Ala' has said:

We shall definitely show Our avenues
(of guidance and insight leading to Jannah) to those who exert (labour) themselves in Our cause (for Our Deen). Verily, Allah is certainly with those who do good (and will always assist them).

Al-'Ankabut:69

Sufyan Ibn 'Uyaynah Rahimahullah said to Ibn Mubarak Rahimahullah: When you see people differ, then stick with those who strive (in the path of Allah) and the people of the frontiers because Allah certainly said 'We shall definitely show Our avenues of guidance to them'.

Shaikh 'Abdul Wahid from the 'Ulama of Tabligh and Da'wah in Karachi, Pakistan said:
Hidayah (guidance) is Nur (spiritual light) that is cast into the heart of a slave according to the amount of sacrifice (he makes).

So, from the favor of Allah 'Azza wa Jall, we did not hear anything from the words of our 'Ulama and Masha'ikh except that we found an origin for it in the Qur'an, the Sunnah and the lives of the Sahabah Radhiyallahu 'anhum . And one 'Alim from Al-Azhar Sharif went out with me for 40 days and I said to him, Shaikh 'Abdul Wahhab said such and such...and so and so Shaikh said such and such. So, he said, "By Allah! All these words I have read from the the 'Ulama of the pious Salaf (predecessors) like Ibn Taymiyyah Rahimahullah, and Ibn Qayyim Rahimahullah Ta'ala. So all praise is for Allah who has made this work according to the statements of those who preceded us from the pious predecessors of the Sahabah and their followers and those who followed them until the last day.

I ask Allah to benefit us and all the Muslims generally and the people of Tabligh specifically with this beneficial series.

Your brother,

Muhammad Ali Muhammad Imam

The academic curriculum for the day of one who is out in the path of Allah

The Usool

1) If you want to reach the destination, then stick to the Usool.

2) Whoever leaves the Usool is deprived from reaching the destination.

3) The Usool make one safely reach the destination.

4) Whoever adheres to something without its origins humiliates himself, and whoever treads a path without a guide goes astray.

5) To leave the Usool opens the doors of Fitan (tribulations) on ourselves. Shaikh Muhammad Yusuf Kandhlawi Rahimahullah used to say: If, in the beginning of this work of Da'wah, you disregard its importance and protecting its etiquettes, there is great danger of falling into severe Fitan.

6) A man is driving. If he adheres to the rules of driving, he will safely return home. If he opposes the rules, then he will harm himself and harm others and an accident will take place which will bring him loss. So, similarly is the case of the Da'ee when he leaves the Usool, he will harm himself and harm others.

7) Shaikh Ilyas Rahimahullah wrote a letter to one beloved brother (in the work), in which he wrote: Certainly, this work is very great. If a person exerts himself therein, he will value the Usool. Then, rahmah (mercy) and barakah (blessings) which comes in years will come in days. And if the effort is opposed to the Usool, then punishment which comes in years will come in days.

8) All of the Usool are derived from the Qur'an (stories of the Ambiya in giving Da'wah to Allah) and from the life of Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam and the lives of the noble Sahabah.

9) Shaikh Muhammad Yusuf Rahimahullah used to say: Our Usool are not (taken) from rationale but rather, they are from the Nuqool (what has been transmitted from Allah and His Rasool)...so the one who makes this work the purpose of his life, Allah will teach him the expressions of the Qur'an.

10) Shaikh Yusuf Kandhlawi Rahimahullah used to say: When Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam wanted (that) Da'wah (be given) outside of the Arabian peninsula, he called all the Sahabah Radhiyallahu 'anhum and encouraged them for an entire three days. Then he said, certainly this methodology that I chose here for the work of Da'wah is the same methodology that will be chosen for places far away.
So, this work does not change due to language, culture, place, society, climate and situation. So, undoubtedly you most focus so that you learn this methodology up to that part which existed with Shaikh Muhammad Ilyas Kandhlawi Rahimahullah. He strove therein with exhausting efforts...

In continuation of the previous page...

...and mix with the Qudama workers who stayed in the company of Shaikh Ilyas and spent a long time with him who learned the ways of (giving) Da'wah directly from him.

And we have heard from our respected Masha'ikh that some requested from the great Da'ee, Shaikh (Muhammad Yusuf son of Shaikh Muhammad Ilyas Kandhlawi) that he write for them the Usool and etiquettes of Da'wah. So he replied with his well known statement: The etiquettes and Usool of Da'wah are taken from the life of Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam and from the lives of the noble Sahabah. They are not taken from me or from someone else. So you must go back to the life of the Rasool and his Sahabah so that you may take etiquettes and Usool therefrom.

11) We show mercy to the one who leaves the Usool and we make du'a for him, always reminding each other of the etiquettes and Usool.

12) We learn the Usool from the lives of the noble Sahabah and we understand the Usool in the company of the Qudama...So, being in the company (of Qudama) is to transmit the work, and is not to decrease words and reminders of the work. The Rasool Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam left 124 thousand Sahabis, i.e. 124 thousand practical models for Deen, i.e. 124 thousand guides to be emulated in authentic piousness according to the mentality of prophethood.

The Environment

And its affects on the human being in all times

The environment: It is the factors and circumstances that surround the human being which affect the heart and mind.

The environment: is very important in affecting the human being. Its influence is very strong in (for) good and evil. An example is the cold weather when it arrives. Then, all the people will be affected and will wear clothes that protect (themselves) from it. And similarly is the example of hot weather when it arrives. All the people will be affected and will change their clothes in proportion to the heat!

The environment: has great affect on people's temperaments, so we find those who live as Bedouins, who have nothing in front of them except the barren, dry desert, where there is no plantation or water. Where there are mountains, rocks and stones. So, people will take from the qualities of these things. We will find their temperaments to be harsh, strong and coarse - to the extent that some of them (Bedouins) used to come to the masjid in the time of Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam and call Rasulullah (loudly) by his name, saying: O Muhammad!...etc. Even the caretakers of camels take from the qualities of camels, so you find in them conceit and arrogance. Even in his walk you find the lightness of the camel....

 17 Till I Die!

The 17 Steps to Achieving Steadfastness or Whoever Has This 17 Qualities Will Be Steadfast (inshaAllah) by Maulana Sa'eed Ahmed Khan Saheb Makki (rh)

  1. Whoever does this work with his heart and soul into it will achieve steadfastness.
  2. Whoever gives daawat everyday, his beliefs, spirit will keep getting stronger.
  3. Whoever lives in the environment (of the effort, of sacrifice) will achieve steadfastness.Whoever cuts off from the environment, will cut off from the work.
  4. جو اس کام می رخن ڈالیگا وه کٹ جایگا  (Need to be translated) (I think this is "Whoever puts blockades in the work will be cut off from the work)
  5. Whoever respects and follows the decisions of the Amir (Zimmedar) and abides by what has been decided in the mashwara (counselling) will achieve steadfastness.
  6. Whoever sees or searches for the shortcomings of others will cut off from the work. Whoever sees or searches for the good qualities of others (mainly his companions in the work) will achieve steadfastness.
  7. Whoever adopts humility will achieve steadfastness. Whoever does the work with pride (arrogance) will not achieve steadfastness.
  8. Whoever stays away from sins will stay steadfast (sins like backbiting, sins of the eyes and lust etc).
  9. Whoever does the work with and while seeking forgiveness and istighfaar will achieve steadfastness.
  10. A hypocrite who does work alongside the Prophet (saw) will not benefit, he will not even achieve imaan. (This translation is not very accurate, so for the moment, leave point # 10 out).
  11. Whoever has good opinions of others and who will spin good meanings of other's wrong or hurtful statements and mistakes will achieve steadfastness (Husn e Zann).
  12. Whoever does the work constantly fearing Allah ta'ala will achieve steadfastness.
  13. Whoever does the work with ikhlaas (sincerity of actions) will achieve steadfastness.
  14. Whoever says that the work is happening because of him / her, because of his / her efforts, Allah ta'ala will take him out of the work.
  15. Whoever does the work while feeling pain for the situation of the whole ummah will achieve steadfastness.
  16. Hazrathjee (rh) once said "Who feels pride / arrogance by doing an effort which is fake (or a simulation of the original effort, *Nakhal* or mirroring the original effort or the Prophet (saw) & Sahabahs رضي الله عنه), how can he achieve steadfastness on the real effort? We are those who are just mirroring the original effort.

Get Up, Blues ~ James A. Emanuel.

Blues
Never climb a hill
Or sit on a roof
In starlight.

Blues
Just bend low
And moan in the street
And shake a borrowed cup.

Blues
Just sit around
Sipping,
Hatching yesterdays.

Get up, Blues.
Fly.
Learn what it means
To be up high.

Isn't it just a pity that there are such a large number of Muslims who haven't tasted what its like doing zikr in khurooj in a remote corner of the world? Performing tahajjud, going in search of brothers, getting tired, resting under a shade of a tree sipping tea, going in search of grocery stores to cook food only to know that stores close by maghrib time, coming back and cooking whatever's available, only to know that even boiled rice with pickles tastes the same as Biryani. Khurooj, my dear brothers and sisters is the abode of the lucky few. While people waste time deliberating discussing on its validity and shortcomings, Allah ta'ala gives taufeeq to a few to leave and look for themselves. But they are not the Blues.

So who then are the blues?
