I've also never been in such a Jamaat but just joined a few Islamic events. I can imagine that would be a great experience, would like to take part if possible. In sha Allah.

Waalaikumussalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu canim Maria.

Insha'Allah canim, you, me and any other sister who hasn't been but would like to go insha'Allah.

Not to compare but just to give an idea of what the heart yearns: Hajj and umrah top the list. But then, there is a yearning for this as well... especially knowing the tarbiyah and islahi element - actualizing the du'aa to Allah Ta'aala to make His love greater than the love of ourselves, our families, and our wealth. It seems the heart needs it first and foremost alhamdulillah.

Khayr, sisters, we would love to hear from more of you willing to share your stories with us insha'Allah. May your stories reverberate and touch many hearts, and may you all be rewarded equally (if not more) for all the good that comes of it, ameen.

I can share what I heard from one of the inspiring sisters I met.

She became involved in the effort after she married. As she herself said, she was very into fashion and not at all into Deen. After the nikah her husband (who was devoted to the effort and close to many of the elders) took her to Nizamudeen in Jama'at. Staying with women without her husband, following an organised schedule was certainly not what she expected and within a day she wanted to return home! She summoned her husband and literally demanded to go back home. He pacified her by saying he would talk to the elders and see what can be arranged.

By that evening she was invited to the home of Hazartji (I'm not sure who she meant by this as i'm not familiar with names and this must have happened at least three to four decades ago). The women of the household involved her in activities and "Hazratji" himself sat outside the house and talked to the women. She said that within days she became enamoured with the effort and never looked back. I heard from many people that she was a means of the reformation for many women all over the world!

Just a humble reminder for sisters (and I'm saying this after observing the situation)- please make your intention crystal clear. While in Jamaat, please don't search bride for your son/brother/uncle. My investigation revealed that plenty of unmarried brothers took their mom in mastoorat Jamaat and ended up marrying someone related to that Jamaat.
