Just take a Sunday morning stroll through the streets of London & other cities in UK to find out what I'm getting at:

Beer vomit.

Aargh!

BAN all kinds of animal cruelty, including:

Commercial poultry plants.
Stunning of animals.
Fishing/hunting for fun.
Using animals for experiments etc.

BAN the use and sales of DOOM and all other insecticides that cause immense suffering to insects before dying.

P.S. If there's a need to kill insects, its understandable - but do it the correct way. Leaving a cockroach laying on its back, kicking its legs for 6 hours before dying is plain zulm. Yea, cockroaches, ants and spiders have rights too...!

More later, inshaAllah........

Horrendous! Horrendous!

This list could go on for ever and ever, so I guess my final post on this matter would be ban everything un Islamic and everything that has even the slightest chance of going astray.

Not mentioning the use of police time and manpower...what for? A whole load of people who have purposely lost their senses and can barely walk due to drink and drugs, vomiting, people lying around on the streets and pavements...pointless...what a waste of valuable resources....and who organises it? and who pays for it?

Not to mention the carnival...even worse...then other events with people freely smoking cannabis and so on...people have witnessed black clouds hovering only over the carnival. Sensless, waste of life!

In all the mentioned events the streets are left inhumanly filthy.

Its not just London, in India too its a common sight to see the poor falling unconscious on the streets due to consuming alcohol - you see them lying on the streets, on the sides of roads sleeping until noon...

Deaths due to consuming poisonous arrack (cheap alcohol) is common but goes unreported most of the times until the numbers aren't on the higher side..

In UAE, there are alcohol bars too but thankfully the after-effects don't spill out on to the streets...

Once in khurooj I had a senior person with me who made and sold liquor for 30-40 years but when tabligh and then khurooj happened, he left all that, and now is a zimmedar (in a remote place in India) plus one of the most great akhlaaque people I have ever come across, always zikr on the lips, and sunnah, and many times 4 months, 40 days, 4 months khurooj...he used to make liquor at the back of his house and sell it in the front.

There can be no "Thankfully"!

Any Haram, regardless of the result MUST be banned. We cant thank the idiotic society for not going over board. Its these sort of things that make it the norm and the future generation wont have a clue whats right and whats wrong.

Lets not be thankful in such cases.

That's just my opinion.

Shaykh (Mufti) Muhammad Shafi Usmani (RA) writes:

In order to run and operate a good civil society, be simplistic and lenient in legislating laws but be harsh and uniform in enforcement. What we see in our countries (Pakistan etc) that laws are complex, harsh (even draconian) but the enforcement is either non-existent or negligible. This is against the principles of Islamic Shariah. You will see from the Qur’aan and Sunnah that laws are simple to understand but enforcement is done on everyone (uniformly) man, woman, rich, poor etc.

The decline in our (Muslim) societies is due to selective enforcement or non enforcement of existing laws, poor pay the price and the rich get away with it!

When making rules (anywhere) ensure that the rules are simple (and lenient) but the enforcement is uniform and followed up rigorously.
