Sayydina Rasul-ullah (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) was devasated at the death of his wife Khadeeja (RA), she was the love of his life and until he died, he never forgot her.
After a year (or a little over) he had the choice to marry an older, taller, plumb, heavyset and not so good looking Sawdah (RA) OR any younger, prettier, nobler girl even Aisha (RA) and he chose Sawdah (RA), not only Sawdah (RA) but the city of Madinah was astonished.
In fact she didn't quiet believe it, first!
There are some very serious lessons on how and why Sayyidina Rasul-ullah (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) made his decisions and how he valued loyalty, sacrifice and value over glitter and physicality. Don't forget thousands around the world in this Eid who need to be valued and rewarded for their undying commitment to Allah (SWT) and His Rasool (Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam) despite not having much to offer in terms of materialism.
