- Saudi Arabia: In Makkah, the moon wil l be 18 hours old and it will set 11 minutes after sunset. However, it will NOT be possible to be sighted, as the moon will be too close to the horizon (2 deg altitude) and the sun (9 deg elongation) Also, the phase of the moon will be so thin (0.5% illuminated) that it will NOT be possible forthe human eye to detect it.

- South Africa: Cape Town (South Africa) will have a BETTER CHANCE to sight the moon as it will remain on the horizon for 45 minutes after sunset. However, according to experienced observers in Cape Town, they do not expect to sight the moon on 7th August 2013 by naked eye under the given astronomical/meteorological conditions of the winter season in the Southern Hemisphere.
- South America: There is a GOOD POSSIBILITY that it might be sighted from South America, but that will NOT be considered in the UK to avoid undue hardships, since any reliable sightings reports may NOT arrive in the UK until the next morning.
