In Karachi, there are lots of rumours and insinuations about the differences between Shaykh (Hakeem) Akhtar Saheb (RA) & Shaykh (Mufti) Zarwali Khan (HA). The “Non-Deobandees” love to drive the knife to the Deoandees that two of our leading Ulamah have differences and hype the differences.

In this bayan Shaykh (Mufti) Zarwali Khan (HA) clarifies a few matters in the following manner:

1. He pays tribute to Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) and highlights his stature
2. He highlights the pedigree and stature of Shaykh (Shah) Maulana Abdul Ghani Phulpuri (RA) and the opinion of Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) about his Khaleefa and his recommendation for him to teach Saheeh Bukhari at Darul-uloom Deoband
3. Shaykh (Hakeem) Akhtar Saheb (RA) spent his youth with Shaykh (Shah) Maulana Abdul Ghani Phulpuri (RA)
4. Shaykh (Hakeem) Akhtar Saheb (RA) then spent his time with  Shaykh (Shah) Abrarul-Haq Hardoi (RA) who was only 3 years older then me in age but the last Khaleefa of Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA)and received Khilafat from him.
5. Shaykh (Mufti) Zarwali Khan (HA) is highlighting that this chain is flawless!
6. Shaykh (Mufti) Zarwali Khan (HA) then recalls how as a student (himself) he remembered the Bayans of Shaykh (Hakeem) Akhtar Saheb (RA) and his humour and his poetry
7. Shaykh (Mufti) Zarwali Khan (HA) then recalls how when he became an Alim Shaykh (Hakeem) Akhtar Saheb (RA) attended his Qur'aan Tafseer sessions and encouraged him
8. Shaykh (Mufti) Zarwali Khan (HA) then recalls how when he became an Alim Shaykh (Hakeem) Akhtar Saheb (RA) attended his Hadeeth sessions and wrote a letter that he should teach Saheeh Bukhari

All in all Shaykh (Mufti) Zarwali Khan (HA) is saying that he was older than me, more knowledgeable and came from a high pedigree of Ulamah and yet he continued to be Kareem (merciful) towards me (as a youngster) and continued the relationship.

This is very important for local Karachi crowd because they claim that Shaykh (Mufti) Zarwali Khan (HA) is a loose cannon and disrespectul towards Shaykh (Hakeem) Akhtar Saheb (RA).
