Kadyrov’s view of himself as a Muslim leader, not just a Chechen one, has always had messianic overtones. He said in a sit-down
interview with this reporter at his palace in Gudermes in 2010 that he did not want to be a president of Chechnya, and would be happy to step down to play the role of an imam, specifically Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Imam: “As long as Putin backs me up,” said Kadyrov, “I can do everything—Allahu akbar!”
His reaction when taking the drinking vesel is very emotional and real - maybe he is getting a bit too OTT
Quote:
Ramzan Kadyrov, informed his more than one million followers on social networks that he had become “the happiest man in this land.” Something had come to pass that he never could have dreamed of, he said. He had had a transfusion, he said, from a descendant of the Prophet Mohammed, so now he has the Prophet’s blood flowing through his veins.
At the end of the day, the point was to show his love for the Prophet (that's why I posted it in the first place)
Not much of a comparison, but it's a bit like the Sahabi who would drink alcohol but out of weakness and the Prophet testified to his love of Allah's Prophet

Allahu Alum.
It was narrated from ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab that there was a man at the time of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) whose name was ‘Abdullah, but his nickname was Himaar (donkey), and he used to make the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) laugh. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had had him flogged for drinking, then he was brought one day and he commanded that he be flogged, and a man who was there said, “O Allah, curse him, how often he is brought [for this reason]!” But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not curse him, for by Allah what I know about him is that he loves Allah and His Messenger.”
