Here some suggestions for the season of 10 days of DhulHijjah

* Increase your level of worship during the day and during the night.

* Try to achieve one khatma of the Qur'an (reading it from cover to cover).

* Keep your tongue moist with dhikr and praise of Allāh wherever you are.

* Maintain a state of tahara and wudu at all times.

* Make most of your dhikr Takbeer (like the one you recite on 'Īd day).

* Fast a few days particularly the 9th, the day of Arafah.

* If you haven't paid for the qurban (sacrificial animal) yet, make sure to do so. Perhaps you should donate one to those who are most in need of it in areas such as Syria and Gaza.

* Wake up before Fajr time and pray Qiyam-ul-Layl.

* Be extra careful about your Fard ṣalāh on time.

* Make sure you don't miss any of the Nafl and Sunnah prayers.

* Give charity and help those who are less fortunate prepare for the 'Īd day.

* Share the spirit of the season and be cheerful with all people.

Dhul Hijjah starts on Sun 6th Oct, Arafaat Day on Mon 14th & Eid on Tue 15th (subject to moonsighting). It can differ region to region depending on moonsighting

"There are No days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these 10 days." [Bukhaari]

"There are No days greater in the sight of Allaah (including Ramadhaan) & in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these 10 days, so during this time recite a great deal of Tahleel ("La ilaaha ill-Allaah"), Takbeer (Allaahu Akbar) and Tahmeed (Al Hamdu Lil-laah)." [Ahmad]

A Sunnah of the Prophet s.a.w: "When you see the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah, if any one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, then he should stop cutting his hair and nails until he has offered his sacrifice." [Muslim]

A Sunnah: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to fast on the first 9 days of Dhul-Hijjah and the day of 'Ashoora', and 3 days each month - the first Monday and 2 Thursdays of the month". [Nasaa'i, Abu Dawood]

Fasting on the Day of 'Arafaah. He s.a.w said, "It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year." [Muslim]

"There is no day on which Allaah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of 'Arafaah. He comes close and expresses His pride to the angels, saying, 'What do these people want?'" [Muslim]

Takbeer of Tashreeq:
Recite from Fajr of 9th Dhul Hijjah (Mon 14 Oct) until Asr of 13th (Fri 18 Oct) "Allaahu Akbar,
Allaahu Akbar,
Laa ilaaha il-lAllaahu,
WAllaahu Akbar
Allaahu Akbar,
Wa Lil-laahil-hamd
(Allaah is the Greatest,
Allaah is the Greatest,
there is no god but Allaah; Allaah is the Greatest
and to Allaah be all praise),"

Adjust your daily routines and Make the most of these precious days.

Inform others & share the reward.
