Over 3 million worshipers offer special prayers at Two Holy Mosques on 27th night of Ramadan
The Grand Mosque received a record number of 3.41 million worshipers on the 27th night of Ramadan, according to Eng. Ghazi Al-Shahrani, CEO of the authority. He explained the number of worshipers attended each prayer at the Grand Mosque on Wednesday: Fajr prayer -703,000 worshippers; Dhuhr - 614,300; Asr 643,900; Maghrib -740,100; and Isha 740,100 worshippers.
Al-Shahrani said that the total number of pilgrims who entered through the main gates reached approximately 800,000. Around 282,400 pilgrims entered through King Abdulaziz Gate, 33,200 through Al-Salam Gate, 107,800 through Al-Hudaybiyah Gate, 149,100 through Umrah Gate, and 199,700 through King Fahd Gate.
The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) has announced record data consumption and improved mobile network performance in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah during the days of Ramadan 1446H.
According to CST’s latest report, daily per capita data consumption in Makkah reached 1,155 MB — more than three times the global average — while Madinah recorded even higher usage at 1,481 MB per person, exceeding four times the global average.
The report also highlighted significant improvements in mobile internet speeds.
In Makkah, average download speeds hit 196 Mbps, representing a 10% increase from the same period last year.
In Madinah, speeds surpassed 272 Mbps, marking a 26% year-on-year increase.
CST noted a surge in voice call activity during the Umrah season. Makkah recorded over 355 million local calls and more than 43 million international calls.
Meanwhile, Madinah registered over 205 million local calls and 20 million international calls.
The commission affirmed the success of its operational plan for the Ramadan Umrah season, attributing the achievement to the continuous support and coordination between government and private sector entities dedicated to serving worshippers.
CST emphasized its ongoing commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure and ensuring high-quality communication services during peak seasons, in line with the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals
Over 1 million pilgrims benefit from golf cart service at Grand Mosque during Ramadan
MAKKAH — More than one million worshippers benefited from the electric golf cart service at the Grand Mosque in Makkah during Ramadan, according to the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.
The authority reported a record-breaking night on the 27th of Ramadan, with 57,000 individuals transported using the golf carts in a single evening.
The electric cart service, introduced to support elderly and disabled pilgrims performing tawaf, operates on the roof of the Mataf area.
The authority provided 50 electric golf carts to meet the needs of pilgrims seeking accessible mobility during their rituals.
The initiative is part of the broader efforts to enhance the pilgrim experience at the Grand Mosque and ensure ease of movement, particularly during peak seasons like Ramadan.

Saudi authorities emphasize that the ban does not impact pilgrims with valid Hajj permits or those intending to obtain official Hajj visas through authorized channels.
For those people who perform Salah outside of Bab Abdul Aziz in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, please note that some of the tiles between the Masjid courtyard & Zamzam towers are not facing the Kabah. As the Kabah is visible from this area, it is necessary to face the Kabah during Salah.
