Saudi authorities intensify efforts to drain Grand Mosque in Makkah after heavy rain
More than 4,000 workers, supervised by over 200 observers, worked to clear the rain
December 29
RIYADH: Saudi authorities said they have intensified efforts to clear the effects of Tuesday’s rain on the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
The Kingdom’s civil defense urged the public to be vigilant on Monday after the meteorology center forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms in several regions of the Kingdom, starting on Tuesday and lasting until Thursday.
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque said it recruited more than 200 supervisors and observers who participated in monitoring over 4,000 workers, a statement on state-run SPA news agency said.
Mohammed Al-Jabri, the under-secretary-general for services and field affairs and environmental protection investigation, said as soon as the rain stops, the courtyard, chapels, entrances and exits have been prepared to drain the water in order to preserve the safety of pilgrims in the Grand Mosque and to perform their rituals with ease.
“The presidency distributed water suction and washing equipment inside and outside the mosque to effectively contribute to the drying process,” he said, adding 470 machines and other equipment have been deployed in the courtyard, the outer yards and the roof.
Al-Jabri said that the presidency has developed a precautionary plan in preparation for the rain, in addition to cleaning drainage and manholes to ensure there is no blockage.
What a joke that they are putting restrictions again in both harams when more than 730,000 people attended Saudi Arabia’s MDLBeast Soundstorm music festival last week and, according to media reports, attendees were drunk, women wore skin-tight pants and men and women shared dance floors.
They are worried about the health of the guests of Allah Taala in the haramain shareefian. They don't care so much about the revelers. There is a strange thought pattern in the ruling class in the kingdom. Nothing can absolve them of their tilt towards open immodesty, but they are afraid that if they don't open up the kingdom to open sinning, then these "freedom loving" locals will channel their energies into Arab Spring like agitations. There are forces in the West who will gladly jump in with logistics and support for such movements. But, if they are given opportunities to indulge in sin, it will keep the youth busy and engaged. Remember that most of those attending these concerts belong to the upper classes. These are the people who have been exposed to the West first hand through foreign education, and they have money and influence.
honest i despise at the Muslims priority. why are u lot so suddenly bothered cos saudi allowing parties or anti tj? this filthy treacherous apostate regime been fighting islam and muslims since its inception. to date the greatest crime ever commited is helping to fight and abolish the khilafah which the shaytan abdul aziz did. the removal of the khilafah is probably the single biggest tragedy after the death of rasoolullah .
since then they have not hesitate harming muslims and Islamic causes. mbs is only finishing off the groundwork laid by former kings.
but alhamdulillah its good what mbs is doing. allah is making it crystal clear their transgression and exposing them that apart from the brain dead madkhalis all the other muslims are now waking up.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
