Workers from the Al-Umrah branch municipality in Makkah remove illegal
constructions on encroached land in Shumaisy area on Monday

The Makkah Municipality has taken back 40,000 sq. meters of land from encroachers who had built houses and set up farms on the government-owned property.

The municipality’s encroachment committee and the police removed the buildings from the land.

Hassan bin Saeed Khanqar, head of Al-Umrah municipality, said the municipality launched a campaign this week in several locations in Al-Shumaisi and removed various illegal buildings.

He said some citizens took over government land without any proof of ownership, and built yards and farms over 40,000 square meters.

The municipality has several field teams in place monitoring the situation.

Ahmad Oon Al-Barakati, the municipality’s secretary general, said the surveillance department, under the leadership of its president Miteb Al-Harithi, removed nine farms and 65 buildings in Al-Shumaisi. The mayor called on citizens to stop taking over government land.

كشف حاتم قاضي وكيل وزارة الحج لشؤون الحج والمتحدث الرسمي أن عدد الأشخاص الذين مُنحت لهم تأشيرات عمرة خلال شهر صفر يزيد على نصف مليون معتمر ومعتمرة من كافة أنحاء المعمورة مضيفا في تصريح ل"الرياض"أن الأرقام تتزايد بناء على الإحصائيات العامة التي أظهرتها بيانات وزارة الحج.

وأكد قاضي بأن هناك تنسيقا مستمرا مع كافة الجهات وذلك قبل وصول قوافل المعتمرين خصوصا مع وزارتي الداخلية والخارجية وهيئة الطيران المدني وغيرها من القطاعات التي تعمل بتكامل وحرص لتقديم أفضل الخدمات لوفود الرحمن منذ وصولهم وحتى مغادرتهم مشددا بأن هناك برنامجا خاصا لمتابعة أداء الخدمات التي تم الالتزام بها من قبل شركات العمرة بإشراف ومتابعة من قبل معالي الدكتور بندر الحجار وزير الحج تجنبا لحدوث أي تجاوزات والتي نواجهها بكل صرامة وحزم.

قال مساعد وكيل أمانة العاصمة المقدسة للمشروعات المهندس عباس قطان إن إجمالي العقارات التي تم نزعها لصالح توسعات الحرم المكي الشريف بلغت 5800 عقار، بتكلفة 75 مليار ريال، وتم الانتهاء من مراحل صرف التعويضات للمرحلتين الأولى والثانية من التوسعة، وفقا لصحيفة المدينة.

وأشار قطان إلى وجود 700 عقار لم يتقدم أحد حتى الآن لإثبات ملكيتها، ووجود 900 عقار لا تزال عليها مشكلات، لافتًا إلى أن أموال تعويضات الدور التي لم يحضر أصحابها تبقى في أملاك الدولة محفوظة.

وقال المهندس قطان خلال استضافته في اثنينية الدكتور أحمد بن نافع المورعي التي أقيمت مساء أمس الأول بداره بحي العوالي: إن إجمالي العقارات التي تم نزعها لصالح توسعات الحرم المكي الشريف بلغت 5800 عقار بتكلفة 75 مليار ريال، وتم الانتهاء من مراحل صرف التعويضات للمرحلتين الأولى والثانية من التوسعة، مشيرًا إلى وجود 700 عقار لم يتقدم أحد حتى الآن لإثبات ملكيتها ووجود 900 عقار لا تزال عليها مشكلات لافتًا إلى أن أموال تعويضات الدور التي لم يحضر أصحابها تبقى في أملاك الدولة محفوظة.
