الفيصل يتشرف بغسل الكعبة المشرفة بعد غد

نيابة عن خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز يتشرف صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير خالد الفيصل بن عبدالعزيز أميرمنطقة مكة المكرمة صباح بعد غدٍ بغسل الكعبة المشرفة، وذلك جريًا على العادة السنوية. ويشارك سموه في غسل الكعبة المشرفة الرئيس العام لشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي الشيخ الدكتور عبدالرحمن بن عبدالعزيز السديس، ونائبه لشؤون المسجد الحرام الشيخ الدكتور محمد بن ناصر الخزيم، وعدد من الوزراء، وأعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي الإسلامي المعتمدين لدى المملكة.

وتتم عملية غسل الكعبة مرتين في العام، الأولى في شهر شعبان، والثانية في شهر المحرم.

ونوّه كبير سدنة بيت الله الحرام الشيخ عبدالقادر الشيبي بما توليه حكومة خادم الحرمين الشريفين بمشروعات الحرمين الشريفين، مؤكدًا أن غسيل الكعبة المشرفة من المناسبات الإسلامية العظيمة التي تحظى باهتمام القيادة الرشيدة. وترجع سدانة الكعبة إلى تاريخ بنائها، وتعني القيام بجميع أمورها من فتحها وإغلاقها وتنظيفها وغسلها وكسوتها وإصلاح هذه الكسوة إذا تمزقت، واستقبال زوارها وكل ما يتعلق بذلك. وينتهي نسب سدنة الكعبة المشرفة الحاليين إلى شيبه بن عثمان بن ابي طلحة، وقد اسلم عام الفتح على أصح الروايات وله صحبة ورواية عن النبي.

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Region, will wash Ka'aba tomorrow in pursuant of the Prophet's Sunnah.

The Prince and his companions will wash inside Ka'aba with pieces of cloths, wet with Zamzam water and mixed with rose perfume.

Participants in the washing ceremony include President General for the Affairs of the Holy Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Holy Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais; Vice President General for the Affairs of the Holy Grand Mosque Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Nasser Al-Khuzayim; a number of ministers; scholars; members of Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a group of citizens.

Sheikh Dr. Al-Sudais prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the best rewards to the Saudi Leadership for its interest and care for the Two Holy Mosques and their affairs.

The Ceremonial Washing of Ka'aba

Makkah, Muharram 15, 1434, Nov 29, 2012, SPA --

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah region led the ceremonial washing of the Holy Ka'aba today morning, using Zamzam water mixed with rose water.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of prominent figures, including Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the presidency for the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and Dr. Mohammed Al-Khozaim, deputy head of the presidency for the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.

After leading the ceremony, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal performed circumambulation (Tawaf) of Islam’s holiest shrine and performed Sunna prayer.

Several dignitaries, including government officials, prominent Islamic scholars, and members of the Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attended the ceremony.

A large number of citizens and pilgrims were also present on the occasion.

Islamic Cultural Capitals

Every year a handful of cities across the Islamic world are chosen to be Islamic Cultural Capitals; cities which are emblematic of the best that contemporary and traditional Islamic culture has to offer.

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), based in Rabat, Morocco, has the ambitious plan of strengthening, promoting and consolidating cooperation between the member states, through education and scientific projects. One such project is the naming of three or four cities each year as Islamic Culture Capitals; one each in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. It gives the cities an opportunity to develop their architectural and cultural assets, with the view of educating the people about the importance of history in their region.


In 2013 the cities are: Tripoli, Lebanon; Al-Madinah al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia; Ghazni, Afghanistan; Kano, Nigeria.

Islam and science ‘go hand in hand’

A well-known American scholar and scientist of Bangladeshi origin was in Jubail recently to deliver a lecture on the Holy Qur’an and science.

Abdul Hye, who worked for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for nearly three decades, is actively engaged in propagating the message of Islam. His lecture was organized by Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali of the Jubail Dawa and Guidance Center www.jubaildawah.org .

He has delivered presentations to NASA team members and at the Islamic Center of East Lansing. His talk, based on copious references from the Holy Qur’an, helped enlighten a large number of men and women about Allah’s supreme power and His authority over His creations.

“It is my firm belief that Islam and science go hand in hand,” he said. “Science without religion is lame and religion without science is blind.”

Abdullah Al-Omairi, a steadfast backer of the Jubail Dawa Center, thanked Hye for his eye-opening presentation and underlined the importance of conveying the message of the Holy Qur’an to one and all.

During a Q&A session, members of the audience raised points, which prompted Hye to come up with detailed explanations.
