Inauguration of the Grand Mosque Library

MAKKAH — Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region, stressed that the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is keen to provide all services to the Haj and Umrah pilgrims.
He said serving them is an honor and all will discern the results of projects being carried out at present in the coming years.
Prince Khaled expressed thanks to the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques for the efforts it exerts. He said the construction the Haram and Makkah are witnessing have come as a result of the directives and insistence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques that these projects should be distinctive.
All will witness the results in the coming years. He further said studies have started on the internal train project in Makkah after the leadership’s approval for the public transport project in the holy capital.
He said companies have been invited to present studies. Execution will begin after completion of the studies.
A library, opened inside the Grand Mosque complex yesterday, contains a large number of reference books authored by prominent scholars. It offers a good opportunity for pilgrims to enhance their knowledge.
It also contains rare manuscripts and a digital library.
During his inauguration of the Grand Mosque Library and while attending the ceremony of the graduation of the 43rd batch of students from the Makkah Haram Institute, Prince Khaled said these students have gained knowledge from erudite scholars. He prayed to Allah that they would be able to spread the message of Islam to the whole world. He expressed hope that the institute will develop to become a university some day.
Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, said that it was the late King Faisal who issued directives to open this institute. He said nearly 5,000 students from 73 countries have graduated from it.
After that the Emir of Makkah handed over the degrees to the graduating students along with trophies for students gradating in honors.

وعلمت "الاقتصادية" من مصادر مطلعة، أن استدامة تلك المشاريع ستتحقق، من خلال منع استخدام التفجير المدني لتهذيب الجبال وتفتيت الصخور ضمن مدينة مكة المكرمة، واستخدام بدائل أخرى أكثر أمناً وأقل ضرراً على البنية الجيولوجية التركيبية للصخور، وكذلك البنية التحتية، إضافة إلى إخضاع جميع المشاريع التطويرية والإنمائية للتقويم الجيوتقني، والجيولوجي، والهيدروجيولوجي، والبيئي، واعتمادها من قبل هيئة المساحة الجيولوجية بهدف ضمان عدم تأثير تلك الأعمال في المسارات الطبيعية للمياه الجوفية، وكذلك الاعتماد على جميع المشاريع التنموية والتطويرية، من قبل أمانة العاصمة المقدسة، وهيئة تطوير مكة المكرمة والمشاعر المقدسة، وهيئة المساحة الجيولوجية السعودية.

مكة المكرمة - خميس الزهراني
عادت مكتبة الحرم المكي الشريف إلى قاعدتها الأولى داخل المسجد الحرام بعد أن تعرّضت عام 1278 هـ لسيول جارفة أثرت عليها. وتعد المكتبة من أهم وأقدم المكتبات في العالم الإسلامي منذ نشأتها في عهد الخليفة محمد المهدي، حيث تضم مخطوطات نادرة من خلال تقنيات حديثة تتمثل في ربط الكتب بالحاسوب، كما تقدم خدمات لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة.
فبعد رحلة تاريخية دامت أكثر من 12 قرناً، تعود مكتبة الحرم المكي الشريف إلى قاعدتها الأولى داخل المسجد الحرام، بعد أن تعرضت لسيول جارفة انحدرت من جبال مكة واستقرت في صحن الطواف.
وكانت لتلك السيول أضرار بالغة على أكثر من 350 ألفاً من الكتب القيمة ونفائس المخطوطات والنوادر.
وظلـت ولا تزال مكتبة الحرم المكي الشريف وحتى يومنا هذا تحافظ على أقدميتـها من بين المكتبات في العالم الإسلامي منذ نشأتها في عهد الخليفة محمد المهدي بن أبي جعفر المنصور عام 161 من الهجرة.

وحازت مكتبة الحرمِ المكي الشريف على عناية خاصة على مرّ العصور لوجودها في أقدس مدينة في العالم, فاختيار مكانها الحالي في توسعة الملك فهد داخل المسجد الحرام، كان عين الصواب لتقدمَ خدمة كبيرة لقرائها من زوار البيت العتيق.
وجنّـدت الرئاسة العامة لشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي مجموعة من الشباب السعودي من أهل الاختصاص يتولون مهمة القيامِ بخدمة الزائر للمكتبة من المعتمرين والحجاج في ثلاث فترات صباحية ومسائية حتى آخرِ ساعة من الليل.
والمؤشرات الأولية تقول إن المكتبة في طريقِها نحو التوسع مستقبلاً وأخذ مساحة أكبر لينعم بمحتوياتها رواد المسجد الحرام ولتزويدهم بمختلف العلوم والمعارف.
