The disappearance of the Kaaba tomorrow

اختفاء ظل الكعبة المشرفة غداً

27 May 2013

Google translation: تتعامد sun tomorrow with the Kaaba straightening and become one with it, which leads to the disappearance of the Kaaba and becomes the zero meridian.

According to the head of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah Al Majed Abu Zahera, the geographical location of Mecca in the tropics tropical between Cancer and Capricorn, make the sun تتعامد with the Kaaba twice each year azan time noon prayers according to local time, and the sun shines in Mecca tomorrow at 5: 38 am from the north-eastern horizon, and apparently moving in the dome of the sky, a movement caused by the Earth's rotation on its axis, up to a point orthogonal at an altitude of 89 degrees at 12:18 noon.

And between Abu Zahera that this phenomenon has been used since ancient to determine the Qiblah regions of the hemisphere, which sees the sun at this time, the moment of the meridian, and by monitoring under a piece of wood or plastic or other implanted vertically on the ground, and the direction of Qibla in the adverse for shade, and this method is not useful for regions geographically close to Makkah like Jeddah, pointing out that after sunset will monitor the population of the Kingdom planetary Venus and Jupiter in the case of coupling a rare near each other in the dome of the sky, forming a scene in a very magnificence, where Sienq each other in the western horizon and can see them easily through the endoscope duo in kind, or by seeing telescope low power or with the naked eye, where the flower to the right of the observer while the buyer to the left and separates between the two degrees and one only, and that the association between these two planets Albracan happening in the sky evening again until July 2015.

It is noteworthy that combines three planets Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in the sky is the closest Kingdom will not be repeated again until 2021.

Jeddah New Airport

_________________________

JEDDAH’S NEW-LOOK KING ABDULAZIZ INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TAKES SHAPE

Written by Steven Thompson

This is the latest picture of the new passenger terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Areen Design, alongside Arup and Atkins, make up the British consultancy team leading the design of the new terminal.

The gateway sits on a total land area equivalent to over 7,000 football pitches and will be home to the world’s tallest air traffic control tower.

Other features include 40km of linear lighting, 200,000sqm of indoor gardens, 46 fixed air bridges, 150 escalators and 3,100 tonnes of steel work.

At the heart of the project is twin crescent-shaped 670,000sqm passenger terminal which will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and systems that will help take customer service levels at the Saudi gateway to new heights.

The ambitious master plan places a greater emphasis than ever before on the private sector to help support, finance and develop projects that include the revamping the airport’s cargo facilities to increase its capacity to handle up to 450,000 tonnes per annum.

Phase 1 (scheduled completion in 2014), which is being funded by the Saudi government and private investors, will raise the airport’s capacity from 17 to 30 mppa.

However, on completion of Phase 3 in 2035, the airport is expected to be capable of accommodating up to 80 million passengers yearly.

The three-phase, demand-driven plan will effectively create a new gateway within the existing boundary of King Abduaziz International Airport (KAIA).

The nation’s biggest construction company, the Saudi Binladin Group (SBG), is the main contractor, together with many specialist international subcontractors and suppliers.

KAIA’s master plan was prepared by Netherlands Airports Consultants BV (NACO), with concept and schematic design being carried out by Aéroports de Paris subsidiary, ADPi, followed by detailed design and build by SBG.

The new 46-gate showpiece facility will replace the existing North and South terminals and introduce new levels of comfort and convenience for passengers, according to General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

New Jeddah Airport

____________________

Prince Khaled Al-Faisal inspects
new King Abdul Aziz Airport project

- 45 % of the project has been accomplished
- will enter service at the beginning of 2015

28 May 2013 - 18 Rajab 1434 H

JEDDAH – Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region inspected new King Abdul Aziz Airport project Monday.

He toured the project that included the transport projects, airport entrances, terminals projects, control tower, work locations including services tunnels and parking lots.

At the end of the tour, on his own behalf and on behalf of the residents of Jeddah, he expressed thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and the Crown Prince for this project, which is considered among the development projects for Jeddah city and Makkah region.

He said, “Today we toured and saw the great accomplishment for this project, which will be completed by the end of 2014 and will enter service at the beginning of 2015.”

Prince Khaled said SR27 billion has been allocated for the first stage that will accommodate 30 million passengers. It includes the infrastructure for the first and second stage.

He said the buildings of the airport include 46 gates with the capacity of 92 planes simultaneously. About 24,000 people are working round the clock at the site throughout the week. This project is using 2600 machines besides 100 contractors.

He said 45 percent of the project has been accomplished. The airport is considered to be the most important and biggest project in Jeddah city. When it is completed along with the other projects that have been completed and those in the process of completion, the infrastructure for Jeddah will be accomplished. These include rain and flood drainage projects, sanitary drainage, desalinated water, electricity project and several other projects.

Prince Khaled said the public transport project in Jeddah has been approved, besides Makkah-Madinah railway project that is linked with Jeddah. He described these as mega projects.

A person in any country of the world will be proud of one of these projects, but in Jeddah they are being carried out simultaneously. “Therefore, on behalf of Jeddah residents, I thank the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who insisted that all these projects be carried out simultaneously so that they are completed as soon as possible. This is due to the monarch’s keenness that all the cities in the Kingdom should be upgraded to the level of those in the world,” he said.

Prince Khaled disclosed that Jeddah Municipality has a project to change the airport’s southern façade so as to keep pace with the development the airport is witnessing. The studies are about to be completed. When completed the project will be carried out. Jeddah was and still is the most beautiful Bride.

He added, “The stalling of projects is almost not mentioned while mega projects are going according to schedule. All the cities of the world have accomplished projects and others that have stalled. We are working to support the stalling projects so that they are carried out, even if they are small.”

New Jeddah airport to be ready in 2015

Thursday 30 May 2013

Expansion works on King Abdulaziz International Airport are 45 percent complete, said Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. Prince Khaled expects the airport to begin operating in 2015.

During an inspection tour of the project, the governor was briefed on airport projects, which include works on transportation facilities, airport entrances, travelers’ lounges, the tower building, subways and parking lots.

“SR 27 billion was allocated for the first phase of the project that will accommodate 30 million passengers,” said Prince Khaled.

The airport buildings include 46 gates to accommodate 92 airplanes simultaneously, with more than 24,000 personnel working around the clock on weekdays.

The project is currently the biggest in Jeddah. Infrastructure works on sewage, flood prevention, desalinated water and electricity will be completed once the other projects are completed.

Prince Khaled said: “Major projects are progressing according to their time frame. This does not mean we have forgotten smaller projects. They have our support for full implementation.”

The new airport is one of the biggest in the Middle East and Asia, located on an area of 105,000 sq. meters and equipped with several service entities and facilities.

Expanding the airport was a necessity in light of the increasing number of visitors to Jeddah each succeeding year and the development of air travel services in the region and worldwide.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) aspires to build one of the biggest and most important airports of the region in order to acquire a large share of transit and air travel market and become a hub linking East with West.

Eight tunnels to ease traffic in Makkah

Thursday 30 May 2013

Eight new tunnels, including two for pedestrians, are under construction in the holy city of Makkah to ensure free flow of pilgrims and vehicles, press reports said yesterday.

“The tunnels are constructed as part of King Abdullah Project for Expansion of Makkah and holy sites,” one source said, adding that they would be ready for use shortly.

The project includes construction of three emergency tunnels for rapid evacuation purposes, two tunnels for sewage and electricity and one for services.

The pedestrian tunnels will have a width of 16 meters each and a height of 8.3 meters.

Both tunnels located side by side, with a length of 740 meters, originate from the side of Masaa (the running area between Safa and Marwa) and ends at Hajoun, the source said.

New Zamzam water storage tank planned

In a related development, Water and Electricity Minister Abdullah Al-Hussayen said the King Abdullah Zamzam Water Distribution Center in Makkah is working round the clock and throughout the year and can supply 200,000 bottles (10 liters each) daily.

The center, which was set up at a cost of SR 700 million, has four production lines while its tanks have a storage capacity of 36,000 cubic meters.
“We are planning to construct another storage tank with a capacity of 40,000 cubic meters,” the minister said.

Total production of the center reached 1.8 million cubic meters since its inception three years ago, of which 1.3 million cubic meters was pumped to the two holy mosques.

Last year it distributed 650,000 bottles of water among the Haj pilgrims.
