Hajj Ministry sets Dhul Qadah 15 as the last date for expiry of Umrah visa
JEDDAH The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that Dhul Qadah 15 will be the last day for the expiry of Umrah visa for pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom. The advancing of the Umrah visa expiry date from Dhul Qadah 29 to Dhul Qadah 15 is to streamline the smooth flow of pilgrims to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah from all over the world for the annual pilgrimage of Hajj, according to the ministry.
The ministry also noted that the validity of the three-month Umrah visa will be deemed to begin from the date of its issuance, instead of the previously approved validity from the date of entry into Saudi Arabia. The ministry clarified this in response to a number of inquiries made through its X platform.
The ministry clarified that the validity of the Umrah visa is three months from the date of its issuance, provided that it expires no later than Dhul Qadah 15, and that is in accordance with the coordination made between the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This date of Dhul Qadah 15 was approved, two weeks (14 days) earlier than the previously announced expiry date of Dhul Qadah 29, the ministry added.

The Saudi Regional Cloud Seeding Program said that its Weather Improvement Department is working under the supervision of experts to improve weather conditions in the targeted areas, including the holy city of Makkah and the Holy Sites.

JEDDAH — The Saudi Regional Cloud Seeding Program confirmed that it is working to improve the weather condition in the Kingdom by making optimal use of all available opportunities and technologies. Its focusses include using ground-based generators to stimulate clouds from high altitudes rather than using aircraft. The program also noted that Makkah and the Holy Sites will be given priority while implementing this new technology of cloud seeding program.
The program said that its Weather Improvement Department is working under the supervision of experts to improve weather conditions in the targeted areas, including the holy city of Makkah and the Holy Sites of Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah. This is in partnership and cooperation with research centers and international universities specialized in this field.
The program also noted that the CEO of the National Center of Meteorology and general supervisor of the Regional Cloud Seeding Program discussed this matter.
The program will benefit from the new techniques of the cloud seeding program that were recently included, such as the ground generators that will soon work in the program to stimulate clouds from heights and not through airplanes, in addition to the cloud physics research plane that recently entered into service. The program will work to present these studies and research in relevant international conferences to highlight Saudi Arabia’s successes through the Regional Cloud Seeding Program.
Riyadh: The Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched the Umrah season plan for the new Islamic year 1446 AH-2024, the largest of its kind in the history of the presidency.
The plan aims to enhance visitors, performers, and pilgrims’ Umrah experiences by implementing numerous religious and scientific programs, involving thousands of volunteers in the Two Holy Mosques.
During the launching of the plan at his office, Dr Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, president of the presidency, said the plan aims to enhance the strength of the Umrah season by focusing on serving and caring for pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Al-Sudais pointed out that the operational plan for the Umrah season in the Two Holy Mosques spans nine months, divided into three phases, concluding at the end of Shaban 1446 AH, after which the Ramzan plan for 1446 AH will commence.
He plans to deploy numerous intelligent religious robots to offer efficient services to visitors at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, ensuring continuous access.
The plan includes intensifying scientific and guidance lessons, increasing Quran lessons, launching exhibitions, and launching the largest religious gifting program, leveraging AI technologies.
The new season of Umrah began on Sunday, July 7, coinciding with the beginning of the new Hijri year.
On June 20, the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah has begun issuing Umrah visas to streamline Umrah performers’s arrivals to the Kingdom and ensure a smooth and worry-free experience.
In 1445 AH-2023, over 13.5 million Muslims undertook the Umrah pilgrimage to Makkah.
Umrah is a pilgrimage to Islam’s two holiest sites in the cities of Makkah and Madinah and can be performed at any time of the year. It is distinct from the Haj, which takes place once annually.
MAKKAH: Saudi women participated in the kiswa changing ceremony at the Kaaba in Makkah for the first time, Sunday as part of the team organized by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.
Installation of the elaborately designed black cloth cover was completed by a team from the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Kiswa of the Kaaba, composed of 159 skilled workers which included women for the first time.
First they tell you that it's not necessary or not allowed to climb up the mountain. Some called it a Bida'h and said the Prophet never went back and neither did any companion رضي الله عنهم climb up the mountain.
