I am looking for Arabic fonts for the android phohne. So far all I could find is the above-mentioned app. It helps me to type in Arabic but without the symbols. It is hard getting used to it, but its okay.

Any one have Arabic fonts for android.

I have removed the quoted text of abu mohammed as this may have caused the page to crash. However the remaining post is still there. (Edited by Abu Mohammed)

Asslamo Allaikum,

Our respected noble and beloved Shaykh (Mufti) Ibn Adam Al-Kauthari (HA) has stated three matters:

  1. It is unanimously agreed that touching the actual text of the Qur’aan requires Wudhu
  2. Some Hanafi Fuqha state that touching the entire “material” upon which Qur’aanic verses are written requires Wudhu
  3. Some Hanafi Fuqha state that touching the entire “material” upon which Qur’aanic verses are written does not require Wudhu

Our respected noble and beloved Shaykh (Mufti) Ibn Adam Al-Kauthari (HA) hasn't really given any evidence and weighed the pros and cons of position 2 & 3 but in my humble knowledge there are many Hanafi Fuqaha who give Fatwa that Wudhu is NOT required when touching the screen and it is a valid position (i.e. see 3 above), Insha'Allah.

This is also an Aqeedah issue rather then Fiqh as is clearly held belief that the Qur'aan is the speech of Allah (SWT) but the ink, paper etc are creations of Allah (SWT), similarly mobile phone technology is creation of Allah (SWT).

Allah (SWT) knows best.

Jazakallah, My first answer of being allowed to thouch the Quran was given by Mufti AbdurRahman (my local Imam). After which I had presented the answer from Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam, which is what I quoted above, my local mufti then changed his view according to the evidence seen.

Asslamo Allaikum,

The simpler question to ask both of our beloved Muftees would be:

Q) If I buy a frame with Qur'aanic verses inscribed inside it, can I touch it and hang it on the wall without Wudhu?

  1. If they answer "YES" then you can touch your mobile without Wudhu
  2. If they answer "NO" then you need Wudhu

This is about actual mobile OR the Screen and not directly touching the verses etc.

Jazakullah Khairun

From my understanding of muftees and others, is that wr can touch and handle the frame or phone without wudhu, but we would need wudhu to touch the mushaf.

Mufti Abdur-Rahman. Said that we would need to use a scroll tab rather than the mushaf when it came to digital qurans.

Offline dictionary. You need to down load the language you want, e.g. English to Arabic. Once downloaded, the dictionary does not need internet connection. Tested with only a couple of words. I'm still in the process of learning Arabic from scratch.

Silent Time

The best app so far. Set the time you want your phone to go on silent, (salah time in the masjid) and then set it for when you want it to come off silent. I have set the times of jamaat in my local mosque to go on silent automatically and also set it for jummah salah.

Brilliant app, a must for this who visit the mosque for salah daily.

This app should be incorporated within The My Masjid App. That would be perfect.

Hint hint Masjid-e-Quba brothers

My Rating*****. 5/5 even though its a free lite version, it does the job realy well. EXCELLENT.

Do you have anyone in the Masjid who knows about programming these and also putting them on market place? We have  awhole bunch of documents (Hanafi Fiqh) READY which can be put up, how do we do that?

Quran Android

Similar to the 13 line Quran, this can have the translation downloaded from various sources and languages. No recitation.

The Download of the text, translation etc should be done via WiFi to save on your Data Tariff
