Islamic Android Apps

Salaam, Below are a list of android apps you may find beneficial.

PLEASE NOTE, THEY HAVE NOT ALL BEEN TESTED OR VERIFIED, THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MUFTISAYS.COM

THERE ARE MANY APPS OUT THERE BY THE SHIA, QADYANI ETC....

If I have used an APP that I think is good, then I will give my opinion on it. InshaAllah.

Some of the apps are straight forward to install onto the phone via the App Market and some may need to be downloaded to the phone via the PC.

Allways download via WiFi to save you running up the data tariff and ALLWAYS use the Market, this way, when you change phones, the apps can be reinstalled automatically.

13 Line Quran (Indo/Pak version) Also known as South African print. Very good if you have a big screen. This app doesnt recite, nor zoom. it is brilliant for Ramadhan and hifz, contains a bookmark for regular reading. Great App

Qibla Compass, So far the best one I've used and most accurate too.

Nearest Masjid Finds a Masjid using google maps, near you using internet or GPS from your phone.

My Rating *****. I have used something like this on the tomtom before, there were many mosques that didn't exist. Not fully tested, but local masajid are correct.

Live Mecca Streaming Only use from WiFi. Very good. 2 minutes delay from real time.

My Rating ***. It does give you the chance to make and learn Quranic Duas.

Android Application is designed to give you the correct and accurate Salah times in accordance to the Masjid E Quba 2011 Timetable.

Could do with some major changes. A one line widget with all five Salah times with two options, Beginning time or Jamaat time. The ability to scroll to other months, as it can only pan through one month. Salah time doesnt update in the widget. But the fact that the app is there, its great. My Rating *****. Five Star but needs improving.
